Long Week March 31, 2017

Long week, full of things. Most of them were not my things, but most were crazy and/or draining. I love my friends and family, and I’m happy that I can be there for them. And I appreciate all they do for me. One of the major me things that did happen, was a friend helped me build a new gaming desktop, to put on the desk another friend had given me. So, Yay!

WordPress says this is the second time I’ve used that Post Title… I’m really surprised it hasn’t been more often. Work went alright, mostly quietly.

Finished Dune, and started Knife of Dreams on audio. If I’m not going to finish Reading it, I might as well listen to it. 🙂

Barfleet party this weekend, with More Gaming. So, I’m looking forward to that.

Springing March 23, 2017

Spring sprang this week, and the weather is slowly catching up. Supposed to be very nice tomorrow. 🙂 Looking forward to warmer weather and flowering things.

Good times with friends over the weekend, even more than expected, but a bit less sleep than I hoped for, as usual. Watched Miss Peregrine’s Home for Unusual Children. It wasn’t quite what I expected, but was still quite good. For cheesy sake, I’m also watching The Librarian trilogy this week. I have also started Dune, but haven’t gotten terribly far, much more time tomorrow to listen.

Looking forward to a busy May, but things are pretty quiet and stable for now. Work is going along nicely. I had the meeting this week to plan for the archival project at MLK. Next step: inventory and discarding or re-homing some non-relevant materials. It’ll be a nice project.

Tonight’s cooking experiment: Garlic and Thyme Roasted Carrots.

I have gone through all my old photos, and found the good ones. I’ll be redoing albums soon. Started with putting two sets on the walls, so my living room now has some decorations. Pondering Flickr for all my digital ones, but not sure, yet.

Also went to my first LuLaRoe party this past weekend and got a few things – a skirt, a dress, and two shirts. I like them, and when the weather gets warmer, I might even have a chance to wear them. 😉 And there goes the rest of Christmas monies, and a bit extra from Mom.

Mom’s been helping me with retirement planning this week, too. Funfun.

Library goes as library does. Meetings this week, and planning more, for the project. Finished one palette, and almost done with two random boxes to start the next. All is good and steady.

In audio books, have just now finished Royal Assassin. Dune begins next week, or maybe during some of the weekend’s driving about to hang out with friends.

I’m bad at naming things, so post titles are always silly. Ah well.

A nice weekend with the girls last week. Tea and movies and popcorn and delicious chicken and cupcakes. Another weekend with other girls this week, this time for a LuLaRoe party. Should be fun.

Work week has been good, and quiet. Learning new things. Just a bit more hand-cataloging, and the current collection will be done. On to the next tomorrow. And work all day Saturday. WEeeeee!

Still working on Royal Assassin, and I’ve got Dune on tap next.

Sorry, folks. I went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at the dollar theater on Thursday night, and then forgot to post last night, instead. Thanks for the reminder, Mom! Fantastic Beasts was, in fact, Fantastic. I really enjoyed the movie, and all the fun beasts, and characters.

On the health side, I’ve lowered my prednisone intake, and now my jaw is starting to be a bit wonky again. I need to call the doc on Monday about the specialist she wanted me to see… and get my blood draw done. ::procrastination::

This week at the library was fairly good. Less excitement than last week. And I’m learning all the little ins and outs of my branch. I’ve also been handed an archival project! Since we’re getting a new branch, the manager has dug up all the papers and photos of the history of the branch. They are not in very good shape and really need preserved and cataloged. So, we’re going to get Aaron over to help set up a plan, that I then get to implement, to take care of all the things. I’m very excited about this opportunity.

On the book front. I finished Triplanetary, and listened to Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime. The latter was very, very good. I learned more about South Africa and apartheid than I ever did in school. Then, I went back to Robin Hobb, and after a chapter of a book way down in the sets of series, I finally found the book I was looking for, and have started Royal Assassin.
