I hope everyone is having a nice October. The weather here has gone cold and rainy, though slightly better for Trick or Treating tonight. I spent last weekend volunteering for Halloween parties. Then went to closing day of the Ohio Renaissance Festival. Despite the weather, it was a very good time. I even attended the final Pub Sing, which was a first for me.

At work, I have begun the Usability Testing with a small handful of students, and am still trying to recruit more. This week I have two conferences, as well. Fall Ohio IR Day (Institutional Repository) and the 2018 ALAO (Academic Library Association of Ohio) annual conference.

Oh, I forgot to post about the MLK Library grand opening. It was really lovely, and I enjoyed listening to Martin Luther King III speak. The building is really well done, too. I am likely to spend some NaNoWriMo time there.

I actually listened to a book this week: Feed the Dragon by Sharon Washington. And read two volumes of Jessica Jones Alias comics and started The Wicked & The Divine volume 1.

Until next time. 🙂

Work was pretty slow this past week. Getting ready for the usability study, but that’s a lot of hurry up and wait. More to do this week.

In creativity news, I’ve decided to do NaNoWriMo next month and have started to work on characters. I’ve also started a handwritten daily journal. My mind has been so cluttered, I need to get back to writing. I even worked on characters at the RenFest this weekend. It was Barbarian Invasion weekend, and the horses showed up in force.

In audio, I’m up to episode 14 of Vox Machina. I spent a good deal of time this weekend on old movies: Angels with Dirty Faces, Chinatown, Brazil… And as if the last wasn’t odd enough, finished off with a newer oddity, The Fountain.

We had a great weekend at a cabin in the Hocking Hills. Playing board games and D&D. Last weekend I went to the RenFaire again, and watched three jousts, three mud shows, a couple pirate shows and bits and pieces of other shows.

At work I’ve gotten my survey results and made lots of pretty pie charts. Now, I’m working on getting the Usability Study organized and running.

In the audio world, I’ve caught up on Season two of Critical Role and I’ve started Season one. It was really fun to watch their live show at NY ComicCon and I’ve been watching a lot of random related videos on Geek and Sundry, as well. Since the last post, I’ve finished Dread Nation and also listened to Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. On the writing side, I’ve pickup up an old gifted journal to get my creative brain rolling again.
