I know it’s only April, but I’m really looking forward to warmer, sunnier spring days. I have gotten some sunlight into my office this week (major benefit of working from home), but more often than not it’s been cloudy and grey.

Not much to report this week. We added a floating chat widget to the library site, and now we’re troubleshooting more user error. But it has upped our student contact in a major way. I’ve been handed a big OER project, which, on my end, means checking a business professor’s citations, attributions, and making sure she isn’t breaking copyright. Really wish they hadn’t dragged their feet so much in hiring the new librarian. But it’ll give me something to keep busy for the next month.

On the home front, I made biscuits, and got the gorgeous art from @TessFowler that I ordered.

Three 4x4 prints of Critical Role characters
Cloak, Rage, and Decorated
Eight biscuits on a baking stone
Rosemary Garlic Parmesan Biscuits

This is my life. 😉

Same old same old. I just completed week five from home. Friends dropped off a wheat soda bread and a cinnamon roll as a treat this weekend. Tomorrow, more art arrives, and maybe some beautifully crafted wood later this week.

We have two weeks left of this semester, plus finals week as the state begins looking at opening up. I look forward to working from home as much as possible this summer, as courses stay online. I wish all the luck to our graduating students, this is going to be a rough start.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Easter Weekend!

Things here are status quo. Staying inside except to get food and meds. Going to have to do the food thing again very soon. Even made myself a basic mask.

Hydy in a purple hand-sewn mask.

The launch of chat went well. A few missed chats here and there, as to be expected. We’ll get the hang of it. Most folk even like our new homepage. So, a smooth week overall, and a bit more back to our usual business.

Went to a party over Zoom last weekend. It was fun, and I drank one of the bottles of Coke I’d gotten as donation for a con that was cancelled. I have one more for the camping trip that is also moving online at the end of May. I miss all these events, badly, but I’m glad we are finding alternatives.

This is going to be a cleaning weekend for me. I got dusters and floor sweepers and such. And a whole counter and sink full of dishes. I also made too much chili, so I’m going to have to freeze some of it for later.

Anyway. Have a Happy Easter. Take care of each other and Stay Home if you can.

Hi Friends and Family!

I hope Mom had a great birthday yesterday. I had a nice phonecall with her and Dad.

And then I couched all night. 🙂

We’re having a couple sunny days to end the week down here. So, that’s helping with the Stay at Home mood. I’ve now eaten the final jar of Mom’s tomato sauce, and fortunately have plenty of frozen food to get me through next week. I am craving pizza, though. 😉

Work has been crazy busy again this week, but I have a quiet day planned for Friday. Everything I have been working on goes live on Monday. New homepage, library-wide chat for students to get our help, and a dynamic FAQ system. I’m excited and exhausted.

Not much to report on the social scene. I’m home, alone, and video-chatting when I can. DnD, dinners, a wedding, and a party this weekend. Technology to keep us sane. For at least another month.

Be safe everyone, and stay home as much as you are able. And thank you to those who are still going to work everyday to keep us safe and fed.
