Three week management class successfully completed, with an A. Back to 7am shifts at work. So very tired this week. Had to spend two hours at the shop yesterday for an oil change because it took them an hour and a half to get my hood open. Apparently the latch had rusted, they tell me. Some WD40, and all better. Came home and slept the entire evening.

Having fun with friends tomorrow, and then Vacation! Yay!!! Can’t wait to see Kalyn! ๐Ÿ™‚

This weekend also holds Father’s Day, my parent’s Anniversary, and Kalyn’s birthday. So a lot of celebrating to do. ๐Ÿ™‚

Aside from Father’s Day, Sunday held two other important events. My Parents’ 40th Anniversary (thanks for the reminder, Mom), and K’s Birthday!ย  So Congratulations and many Salutations to all of them. Hope everyone had a great weekend with their families and friends. I did a lot of relaxing and random Netflix watching. Tomb Raider was an odd little movie, I liked the characters better in the second one.

Finally did all the house cleaning on Monday. Went through all my files, shredded a bunch of Really Old Stuff, including some 5-year old, 1 year warranties. Found a spare passport picture, in case I ever do get in gear to send for my student ID. I’m just not sure it will be useful to me since I’m not on campus. Might just do it for cheaper movie tickets. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Switched my phone today, so I’m without service until the new plan kicks in at midnight. That’s probably something they should have told me ahead of time, but oh well. Back to a basic flip phone, but I do have unlimited text and data. Still not sure what good data is on a tiny flip phone, but we’ll see.

This weekend, is the Pride parade. I actually don’t have to work, so I think I’m heading down to the short north for that. Not sure where exactly. Sunday is a big picnic with friends, so that’ll be fun.

Welcome to Summer!

Rich and I had a very good weekend together.

We watched the first eight episodes of the new season of Torchwood. A very interesting new plot, season-long story this time, instead of monster of the week. Always fun to learn more of Captain Jack’s history.

We also had lots of good food. P.F. Chang’s, Papa Murphy’s, TGIFridays, and lots of movie theater junk food, too.

We managed a rollerblading lesson with no falls Sunday afternoon. Barely. I did fine on flat surfaces, but inclines freaked me out. I did learn how to stop by going into the grass, without falling. But still no luck stopping in normal ways, pretty sure I’d trip myself.

And went to see four movies: X-Men First Class, Pirates of the Carribean, Captain Americaย  and Cowboy & Aliens. Two at the dollar theater and two at Rave.ย  I enjoyed the development of the history and relationships of Charles and Eric, and seeing some of the early mutants as teenagers, though Rich had to tell me who some of them were. A good basis for a new story, I think. Johnny Depp was fun as always, and got me curious about the history of the Fountain of Youth as well. I also really liked the missionary character and am exploring a possible new story using a similar theme. Captain America was an entertaining set up of a character I knew nothing about and not exactly what I expected. Rich says I need to see Thor to fully understand some of it. We would have done, but it was already out of the dollar theater. Cowboys & Aliens I fell asleep during. Simplistic premise and plot, lots of action, only one surprising character, and her presence felt forced.

All in all, a good weekend, with plenty of sleep, food and fun.

Lots of things going on. I didn’t post yesterday because I was taking care of a friend and getting annoyed at uncommunicative doctors. They seem to at least be organized today for her. Hopefully, they’ll finally get things figured out and fixed.

It was also my seventh anniversary with Rich yesterday. He worked all day and I felt rather ill all evening, though we did have dinner together and watch Big Bang Theory and Torchwood. We’re celebrating this weekend. Probably at the Renaissance Fair (Edit: Or not, it doesn’t open until Next weekend) and the dollar theater. I want to see the newest Pirates and X-men.

I have made two new plans, with deadlines, today as well. First one is a learning plan for myself: WordPress, Drupal and Joomla! and PHP & MySQL.ย  Just the basics of each, using the For Dummies for each for an overview so I can compare and contrast the first three, and see what I can pick up about the last. Then I’ll figure out what I really want to put time and effort into.ย  Second, is starting on the road to a better job. Updating my resume, getting it posted online and then searching for data entry jobs at companies or organizations I’d be happy working for.

So, apparently cabins in the Hocking Hills must be rented for two nights at a time on summer weekends. There goes that anniversary idea. We’ll have to take a look at what’s available more locally in the way of a cheap but fun getaway. Too bad about the heat, or we could hit the Ren Faire. We’re saving that for cooler days, though.

Looking forward to seeing all the family on Saturday. Birthday cake, ice cream, children playing and maybe even a round or two of Munchkin. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have to buy presents at work tomorrow. Yay, last minute shopping.

Hurt my back last week, went to the chiropractor. My spine is apparently lovely, but my hips are crooked. Knew that, we’re working on fixing it. Back finally feels better today.

Getting bored of food again. Wanting more variety. Craving cheese(pizza, mac & cheese, Parmesan covered pasta) a lot lately, too. Joints about the same as always. Not terrible, but not ideal.

The school jobs are a total no-go. I am once again pondering data entry. I’ve only ever done bits of it at my jobs, but I wonder about doing it full time(or ya know, part time, I like flexible schedules). It just doesn’t seem like it’d be fulfilling, unless it was at a really good place. Inertia tends to win. Especially when I have ‘decent’ hours at work and only tiny bits of non-retail experience.

Lots of rambling today, I think I’m done now. See you next week.

I can’t even think of anything I’ve done in the last week. How do people blog daily? I have a hard time doing weekly sometimes. Hm… I’ve started rereading the Callahan series by Spider Robinson. I think I’ve got almost all of them now. I might be missing one, but I’d have to check again.

20-30 hours at work all this month, so that’s good. After this week I go back to all 7am shifts, not Quite so good, but can’t have everything. No news on the other fronts. Still debating between the ease of Craigslist and the possibility of higher profit (for loads more effort) on eBay for the Care Bears. Anyone know a collector who will just solve the problem for me? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Upcoming August Highlights: Family birthdays, and our 7th Anniversary.

Rich and I celebrated our Sixth Anniversary yesterday. We went out to lunch at Buca de Beppo (thanks Mom and Dad). Mozzarella Garlic Bread, Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccine Alfredo and Tiramasu. Then we saw The Expendables on an Ultra Screen. It was a pretty straight forward action movie, lots of big names, good fun. We had Papa Murphy’s BBQ Chicken Pizza and Cookie Dough for dinner and spent the evening watching Leverage. I’ve always been a fan of heist movies, and I loved the A-Team. Leverage is a combination of both in the modern world, going after corporations. It makes me happy. We had a good day together, and many more days and years to come.

Wrote this last Saturday, not sure why it didn’t get published…

A low of 35 tonight? Really? Come on, spring, we liked you, come back…

Reading the revised and updated edition of 4-Hour Workweek. I got through the first section this week. Did the dreamlining exercise and my four most important goals for the next six months, I’m already moving on, just have to get to the next steps. Also learning about internet marketing for fun and profit. Still waiting to see if our man in India can pull off a miracle for the Bookup site’s integration. B&N hours are still steadily dropping, a couple more things in place and I’ll be done there. All signs say I should not wait, but my need for security is just too high. If I get desperate for money, I’m sure I can open up my availability and have a heart to heart with Lee Anne. Things are staying balanced for the moment, though.

On the first topic of this post, dreamlining, I thought I’d say a little more about that. The object of the exercise was to make two lists, one for six months and one for twelve months, of what you wanted to have, be and do.ย  My six month list of have was mostly new clothes, my list of be involved blogger, paid published author and being more fit, and my do list included two trips, concrete work on a book, making income outside traditional “job” structures, as well as a lovely anniversary celebration with Rich. My twelve month goals included a bigger home/apt, a tablet pc and a published book; financial freedom from the rat race, freedom from RA flares (I haven’t taken any meds in a couple weeks), freedom to travel, and more time with my family and friends.

As previous comments mention, I have now gone over three weeks without a shot. I’m feeling quite good, and should really call my doctor to see when I can get in to talk to her about my blood tests. Retail schedule making that even more difficult a problem. The apples and bananas have gone over well. Giving me a little break from simply veggies. Slicing up the bananas on whole grain flat bread with tahini over them makes an excellent, if not very alkaline snack. I need to get more yeast-free alkaline grain bread in the morning if Raisin Rack has some. Got frozen veggies, too, but have eaten them all already. The smaller cuts make prep easier, if not fresh and raw. Things are going quite well and I’m finding myself having a much happier week. Parties are still painful, with all the lovely acid lying around, but I resisted this weekend. Time to start planning Anniversary Zagging. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Food of the week: Flatbread wrapped bananas and tahini
