Autumn has come, and the days are bright and cool. At least at the end of the week, the first couple days were hot enough, that they let the kids out of school early on Monday and Tuesday. Pretty quiet except for that. It’s the calm before the Halloween storm of parties. 😉

Did hang out with friends this weekend, worked on my painting and had a wine and chocolate tasting. Still working on the Robin Hobb. The narrator has a sleepy voice, but it’s an interesting story.

I was waiting to blog until I took apartment pictures, but then I realized things still aren’t exactly how I want them yet, the downstairs isn’t quite finished. Ah well. Sorry for the delay. My brand new oven still has that lovely “brand new oven” smell when I use it, but it’s getting less and less. I shattered one of my three 8×8 glass pans last night by following instructions that were probably for a metal pan. (Note to self: don’t heat glass and then put cold in it.)

Cold has come to central Ohio. Still having some beautiful days, but they say we’re about to get lots more rain and possibly some snow. I’d rather have cool and crisp than spring-like rains, but the hurricanes and weather patterns disagree.

Work is work, not much to report there. I missed the auction of old library things, because money is all used up from the move. Though, I am planning on taking Mom to the annual FOL sale when she comes to visit next month. Wonder if it’ll be any more organized (or less) than the HPB annual sale.

In reading news – Finished Assassin’s Apprentice, started 2000 Leagues Under the Sea, and then switched over to The Martian by Andy Weir when I realized I had an unspent Audible credit. Very much enjoying it. 2000 Leagues was very … zoologically heavy… but I’ll get back to it next week.

Nights are getting cooler, though days are still mostly oppressively hot. But fall is on its way. 🙂

Had a nice weekend. Hung out with friends. Wandered around Easton, including the Lego Store, Jenni’s, and at least one kitchen store. Watched OSU’s opener Monday night on a big screen with other friends. All in all, not a bad way to begin September. Much larger group gathering this weekend.

Internships are both going well, even went to a meeting with a bunch of Digital Librarian type people from all over the state on Wednesday (OhioDIG: Ohio Digital Interest Group). That was really interesting, learning about OSU’s big digital reorganization, and getting to tour the Westerville Public Library’s archives department.

I have two digital collections to create this semester. Tonight, I’m taking pictures for my pewter collection. Soon, I will need old photos for my group project collection. So, if anyone (Mom?) has pictures of couples(wedding photos, ect.)  from before 1945 they would be willing to share with me (physically or digitally), I would really appreciate it.  It would be super helpful if you had information about the people in the photo, too. 😉

Had a great weekend with friends. Hanging out, relaxing, eating tasty food at Buca di Beppo. This weekend will be quieter and filled with homework. But still a Friday with friends in the plans.

Work is still work. We’re getting our lead positions filled. Still managers short, and of course seasonal hiring soon. Still looking at libraries, waiting for replies to applications. All sorts of fun.

Weather is turning colder, must be nearly fall. Heard a lovely commercial this morning about the leaves in Michigan. Will have to hit the bio reserve soon. 🙂

It hasn’t been terrible, just not that great. I spent the weekend working and exhausted. Though I did get a nice massage on Friday evening, and to hang out with folk both Friday and Saturday. Monday, my tummy decided that the new veggie dumplings I’d gotten were pure evil and was upset all the way through to Tuesday evening. I had to go home from work Tuesday morning because I was so dehydrated I  nearly passed out. And therefore missed gaming that evening. Wednesday, I managed to slice open the ball of my foot on a nail in the doorway between the bathroom and the closet. No stitches or tetanus shot needed(had one last spring), but the doc did give me antibiotics and tell me to keep a eye out for infection. So, now I’m limping around a bit. The office work has started to catch up with my shoulders, normally tight, they are complaining quite loudly what with everything else, despite friendly massages throughout the week. But that’s just all physical. Easily dealt with.

Life, itself, is pretty good. Working (and more to the point getting paid for) nearly full time hours. Working more provides me with interesting lunch choices – hurray for salad bars and fast lunch counters. The weather is heading into a nice cool fall. True, my projects are on hold, but I did get through a full run of the Game Master Guide for Legacy of Heroes before taking the new job. Coming up, there are birthdays and weddings and Halloween parties. Oh, and the Renaissance Festival. 🙂
