Sorry family and loyal readers. I really thought I had posted more recently.

Camping was great. Not too much rain, just enough to keep us cool. The food was delicious, the evening music delightful, and the stars were Beautiful!

Last weekend I did some clothing shopping for my UK Trip. I got some convertible pants, a floppy hat, and some hiking shoes. (Second pair of pants with the rebates from the purchase this weekend).

I also stopped by Jo-Ann for cloth to make into a patchwork twirl skirt. This week I got a few more things for that project, including a small sewing machine. I found some instructions and started cutting squares, as well.

Also had a great time with friends this weekend at a birthday party. Many boardgames were played, but some of us gathered around the TV to watch Secrets of the Zoo about the Columbus Zoo. So many cute animals!

Work is going well. Lots of projects in the works for summer. Several completed this week, including writing my first grant proposal.

In books, I finished listening to Kill the Farmboy (very odd, but entertaining) and started Creativity, Inc. from the library.

Well, everything is in the new place, and keys have been returned for the old place. I am officially moved in. Only about halfway through unpacking though – kitchen set up, but not the extra stuff. One bookcase filled up, but not the second. One pewter case re-installed, but not the other. Internet set up, but only one computer. Bedroom is fully set up, and all the furniture is in the right places, as well as most of the boxes, but a lot of unpacking still to do. There is, however, internet, which makes me very happy.

This weekend, though, I’m going camping. It’ll be slightly on the chilly side, possibly damp, but it will be fun, and there will be friends. And we will have a good time. ๐Ÿ™‚ ย And Chili, from what I hear.

I go through M is for Magic, and this week I’m listening to Ender’s Game. With Ender’s Shadow on deck, because I’ve never read it, and I’m curious. I’ve also got a Robin Hobb book checked out because it came off my reserve list just after I got Ender downloaded. Lots to listen to.

See you next week, with photos.

I had a great time last weekend with my Barfleet family. Four days and four nights of camping, delicious food, fun games, silly stories, campfires, singing with guitar and banjos, and 90 minutes of solid, straight, echoing laughter. It was glorious, and the rain stayed mostly away, though we starting wishing it wouldn’t as summer came in and sat heavily upon us. Already looking forward to our fall camp out.

I finished the second book of Night Angel, but now I’m waiting my turn for the last. In the meantime, I’ve been listening to a lot of TedTalks, and some more scifi. Last week was some Bradbury and Wells. I’m trying to decide what to spend my current Audible credit for. Maybe another Salvatore, I’m getting further and further behind.

But onto the big news of the week. I started my new job! I had orientation on Monday and learned all the details of benefits and the employee systems. Tuesday and Wednesday I learned all the things about my job. How to check books in, how to shelve and clean up shelves, where all the things belong, how to find and process reservations, and how to use Polaris and email. This week I start working on my own a bit, and learning the minutiae. Saturday we (CML) kick off our Summer Reading Program – and it’s not just for kids, everyone can participate and enter the prize drawings. So, head down to your local branch on Saturday and sign up. ๐Ÿ™‚

We had a great time this past weekend. Full of silly games, delicious food, sun, wind, and a little bit of rain. There were campfires and telescopes, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and a gorgeous moon. We watched fireflies and sky lanterns. Plenty of puppies and even a baby goat – Stormageddon, the cutest kid around. I love camping with my friends from near and far, can hardly wait until the fall.

A few more replies to my internship emails, some no’s, a maybe, and a handful of more people to contact. So, that’s going alright, I guess.

New boss started at work this week. She seems pretty cool, and very motivated to make our store the best at all the things. So, we’ll see how that goes.

A week and a half more of relaxing until Summer classes start. Yay, sleep! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Was still a lot of fun. There was plenty of hot cider, and only one bee all weekend. The fire was awesome and hot, as we burned most of an ash tree that they had cut down for us (already dead). There were s’mores, and hotdogs, and pie-iron pizzas. We even had birthday cake and giant camp chairs for two. It was a good weekend of relaxing with friends.

Week 7 of the semester. I have the group project ball this week. Get to make a Workflow document, wee fun! Lots of work still to do, but I have tomorrow off to finish up. All is going well, glad I’m in the group I am. Everyone works really hard.

My three-day work weeks start next week. I really have to sort out another job. Anybody want to hire me as their personal librarian? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Reading/math/computer tutor? I think I volunteered to work Black Friday again this year, but she said I could have Saturday off, so there’s that.

I’m about halfway through the second book in the David Gerrold War with the Chtorr series… and then I’ll have to move on to one of the other four books I’m borrowing, because he only lent me two of the four books… who does that? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย Oh, right, someone who wants to introduce me to four different authors I’ve never read… Enjoying it,ย anyway. Will have to get the rest… My “to read” book stack is currently sitting at ten, I think. Wee! December is going to be full of reading under big fluffy blankets.

October has brought the cold nights, and this weekend, cold days. Which will not be so great for camping, though the rain will be the worse part. Ah well, fun with friends, and campfires.

Classes are still keeping me crazy busy. Next week I’m in charge of the project assignment, so that should be extra fun. All seem to be going pretty well, just have to keep up. Metadata in both classes this week, so at least it coordinates a bit.

Things are stabilizing at work. Unfortunately, this means me going back to appropriate number of hours (25) instead of working 30-40 a week. Change-over actually went really well this week, so that’s good. Still looking for seasonal hires. (And yes, still looking for a library job.)

Soon, it will be Halloween!

I had a great weekend camping with 106 other people over Memorial Day weekend. We had beautiful weather, tasty food, and roaring fires. The games kept people entertained, the music kept people bouncing, and the stars were amazing (even if we didn’t manage to see the big meteor showย we were supposed to see). I got a little crispy, but not many bug bites at all, (and there was much rejoicing). Can hardly wait to do it again in the fall.

Returning to homework and the store has not been fun this week, but I’m managing, with only a bit more irritation than normal. Mildly crispy skin is itchy. Halfway through my three week class, and going strong.

This weekend is relaxing with the puppy and kitty, and maybe heading out to a bonfire (or two) for a bit Saturday night with friends. Then the last rush of finishing up assignments and discussions by next Friday, so I can have a peaceful June. So very excited for my trip to England. ๐Ÿ™‚

Too busy to post from home today. Had a great time with friends and family this past weekend. Even more shenanigans to come this weekend. Homework done for the week, but not many classmates to reply to yet. Have done all I could though. Hope everyone has a great and safe Memorial Day weekend!

MarCon was great this past weekend. I had a blast with all my friends from far and wide. It was good to relax and hang out. The new cups are pretty, and kept trash to a minimum. The new sound system was sweet, and kept both rooms rocking. I’m told we even had some toddlers dancing in a nearby room.

This weekend is more hanging out with friends Friday, a small get-together on Saturday, and then family on Sunday. Mom’s even bringing me her very own homemade tomato sauce! I am ridiculously excited about her sauce. ๐Ÿ™‚

Monday is the start of my May-term management class. Three weeks to do ten modules. And I had to buy three books for it. Wheee fun! So I’ll be starting that this weekend, too, because next weekend is camping. Yay, camping!

So, this week starts the crazy. I’m pre-writing this to post on Thursday because I won’t be home. This weekend is MARCon here in Columbus and I will be there starting when I get off work on Thursday until Sunday lunch-time. We are hosting three nights in a row, should be a great time. Perfect for my May break from school.

Then, Happy Mother’s Day!!!

The following weekend are events with friends and family. And the weekend after that is camping from Thursday through Monday, homework-load dependent. I still haven’t heard from the professor yet about anything, including the book, but I got the one every other management class has used, and am just hoping that for a three week class, he doesn’t expect us to buy multiple. The weekend after that, I’m staying home for pet sitting while everyone else heads to Cleveland for Concoction. Which should be awesome for them, and homework time for me.

All A’s again this semester. Yay, fun. Looking forward to learning more cool stuff this summer and fall. I’ve become slightly obsessed with database design since taking my database driven website class, and learning the basics of SQL. Yay organization. ๐Ÿ™‚
