80s over last weekend, and snow on Tuesday. What fun! We’re back into the 60s today, and beautiful weather. Ohio is definitely exciting… or something like that. 😉

Watched a couple new (to me) movies over the weekend. Watched The Philadelphia Story and Kinky Boots with friends, both very good and very entertaining. Then went to see Captain America Winter Soldier by myself. Also a very good movie. Though debate rages over whether I should watch SHIELD episodes.

Started my database driven website workshop this week. Learning new things about Access and SQL. All is good. 🙂 only just over two weeks left in the semester. Excited for the summer. They say the bill will be arriving next week. Once again, gratitude to my parents for their assistance in this new chapter in my life.

On the gaming front, I lost my character on Tuesday. Time to test out a new combination in the new system next week. And I’m considering returning to World of Warcraft – as a more social alternative to the hours I spend watching Netflix. We shall see.

Hope everyone is having a good week, and has a Happy Easter on Sunday!

I’ve got to slow down. I keep forgetting things. I put a sign on my door earlier this week that says: Slow Down. Take a Breath. Do you have Everything you Need? Are you Sure?  Didn’t forget all the things I needed for today, so I guess it helped. 🙂

Today went well. Good thoughts and positive vibes and fingers crossed. An exciting possibility is in the works.

Enjoying another week with only one class. I start my Database driven Websites workshop this weekend. Get to learn more about Access, SQL, and ColdFusion. 🙂 Should be fun!

Had a nice gaming party with friends this past weekend. Went very well. Had a great time. A bit of hanging out planned for this weekend. And possibly an early matinee of Captain America.

Also, having finished The Third Kingdom by Terry Goodkind (still need to read The First Confessor), I started a new Heinlein book this week: For Us, The Living. About a third of the way through. Spider Robinson is definitely right in his introduction – it’s not a novel per se, more of essays on Heinlein’s views that shaped the rest of his books. Enjoying it anyway, it is very thoughtful.

Updated a handful of passwords thanks to newly announced internet bug. FTP no longer likes me, but it’s dinner time, so I’ll figure that out later. 🙂

Rich and I had a very good weekend together.

We watched the first eight episodes of the new season of Torchwood. A very interesting new plot, season-long story this time, instead of monster of the week. Always fun to learn more of Captain Jack’s history.

We also had lots of good food. P.F. Chang’s, Papa Murphy’s, TGIFridays, and lots of movie theater junk food, too.

We managed a rollerblading lesson with no falls Sunday afternoon. Barely. I did fine on flat surfaces, but inclines freaked me out. I did learn how to stop by going into the grass, without falling. But still no luck stopping in normal ways, pretty sure I’d trip myself.

And went to see four movies: X-Men First Class, Pirates of the Carribean, Captain America  and Cowboy & Aliens. Two at the dollar theater and two at Rave.  I enjoyed the development of the history and relationships of Charles and Eric, and seeing some of the early mutants as teenagers, though Rich had to tell me who some of them were. A good basis for a new story, I think. Johnny Depp was fun as always, and got me curious about the history of the Fountain of Youth as well. I also really liked the missionary character and am exploring a possible new story using a similar theme. Captain America was an entertaining set up of a character I knew nothing about and not exactly what I expected. Rich says I need to see Thor to fully understand some of it. We would have done, but it was already out of the dollar theater. Cowboys & Aliens I fell asleep during. Simplistic premise and plot, lots of action, only one surprising character, and her presence felt forced.

All in all, a good weekend, with plenty of sleep, food and fun.
