Finally went through all the papers that have been piling up in my office for a couple years and did a few loads of shredding while I was at it. A clean office and living room have been accomplished this weekend. As well as watching Endgame, and having a nice long walk and some good exercise.

At work, we are heading into finals, so there’s a therapy dog visiting this week and next. I have a conference down town for half the week on Best Practices for digital preservation/repositories. Really looking forward to that. I am also working on putting together a webpage to hold the English 1100’s Open Textbook project. (And arguing with onClick tooltips that they requested.)

Heading into a busy May. Mother’s Day, MarCon, and Barfleet Summer Games. And I have the puppy and kitty for four days. Yay puppy and kitty, boo long drive in to work. 😉

In audiobooks, I have taken a break from Wishes and Wellingtons (Julie Berry), and am attempting First Grave on the Right (Darynda Jones), but I am not sure I’ll make it through. I also have Provenance (Leckie) waiting in the wings, as well as Dragonlance’s Vinas Solamnus (J. Robert King) because Liam O’Brien narrates it. In comics, I finished this run of DIE and got halfway through Alias v. 3. I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the comics on my list, so not sure what will be next. Endgame was spectacular, though.

I missed posting last week (sorry Mom) because I spent the Day with friends, and then the weekend creating a story in the Rifts multiverse with more friends. My character ended up being without language, which I didn’t expect, but I worked on a soundboard so she could still communicate. I am often too shy/embarrassed to put on a voice for a character, but I had been planning on it for this one. Turned out her voice was mostly birdsong, which was interesting and entertaining (I hope) for everyone.

NaNoWriMo is about to end, and while I didn’t “finish” or “win,” I did learn about myself this past month, and I have some ideas to move forward with. This includes scheduling writing time, but not beating myself up for missing it. Journaling more. And a card writing project for Advent. I’m also looking at venues for posting more of my writing online.

In other news, Dissolution papers have been filed, and accepted (only took two tries). My job is stable and steady, and I’ve managed 8 of 15 usability tests/interviews. Thanksgiving with friends three nights last week was wonderful. And I am so grateful for my friends and family who support my crazy life.

In reading news… I finished Death’s Mistress by Terry Goodkind. I’m now listening to City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. I’ve also been reading comics on Comixology thanks to The Wednesday Club on Geek and Sundry Twitch/Project Alpha. Classic Deadpool V. 1, Runaways V. 1, and Love is Love. Planning to try Saga and Fables next.
