My presentation went well. GenCon was packed with fun, games, art, and people. The live show was amazing. My games were fun, we even made friends with the monster in the Cthulhu game.

WorldCon was also a great time. I met all the authors I planned to and a few more. I got books signed, played games, and made new friends. I met The Library Bards and got a picture with them and a signed one of them. I went to panels and concerts and even danced one night away.

Dublin, Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Glasgow, London, and Bristol made for a very busy sightseeing trip. I saw lots of castles, cathedrals, cemeteries/crypts, buildings, and monuments of all shapes and sizes. Photos will be forthcoming when they are edited and organized.

Back to work this first week of the semester has been a rough transition, but we survived. I caught up on email, and trade mags, and organized the next run of our Research Guide awareness campaign. Next week it’s right back into the swing of welcome fairs and teaching information literacy.

Over vacation I read a Lot of Comics. From Jessica Jones to Ms Marvel to DIE to Locke and Key to Killmonger to Mister Miracle and probably a few more I am forgetting. I finished listening to Fated by Benedict Jacka and will be starting Cursed soon.

Looking forward to football and Ohio Renaissance festival starting this weekend!

Just finished my last assignment for my Management class. I will post a few more replies tomorrow to round out the week’s discussions, but the hard part is over. All readings, quizzes and assignments are done. Wohoo!!

Had a nice, quiet weekend with the animals this past week. And another nice, quiet weekend coming up. There will be a birthday dinner/boardgame to attend on Saturday. But other than that – Relaxing! Yay, June.

Just went over my tourist plans with K today. We are going to do all the things, and it will be glorious. 🙂 So looking forward to visiting her, and meeting all her friends and some of her family.

In other news, The Narrative Gaming System books arrived last week, and all the domestic orders have been shipped out. Possibly he’s also managed the international ones by now, not sure. So, hurray on a project complete!

They say it’s spring today. They also say tomorrow is going to start with snow and end with 60 degree temps. Ah, Ohio. Welcome to spring, my friends, family, and readers.

I had a great weekend with friends both here and up north last weekend. There was much silliness and bacon. Opting out of going north again this weekend, but still plenty of fun to be hand here at home.

I also have a final project that I’m hoping to finish up tonight, and a midterm test to take on Saturday. And I have to finish editing the NGS book by end of day Sunday. But then it’s Spring Break! Weeee! No homework for a week! 😉

In other news, I bought my plane tickets to England. They’re for June instead of August as I realized I have more of a break (three weeks instead of one) between classes earlier in the summer. I get to fly through DC and Brussels to get there, but I’m going straight from Columbus to Bristol (and back) without having to get a train to and from London. K’s already being to plan Things We Must Do. So looking forward to seeing her!!!

Longest day of the year, and official start to summer was yesterday. And the temperatures are certainly agreeing. Lots of high 80s and low 90s around here these days. Occasional drops of rain to cool it down, but far less than is good for us.

My parents had a busy weekend: 39th anniversary, Father’s Day and moving all in three days’ time. But they seem to have survived it (and the down pouring rains) without too much hassle. I look forward to more pictures and actually getting to visit them at some point.

This Saturday is full of overlapping friends’ gatherings. A women’s event, a cookout wedding reception, and my usual night out. Oh, and I have to work all morning. Not sure what all I’m going to make it to. But it should be a fun day.

Less than two weeks until our trip to Boise. We’re pondering watching the fireworks from Bogus. Also, going to Wingers and Fuddruckers are a must. I miss good burgers and Wingers’ sauce. (No, Mike, I’m not getting a veggie burger, that’s what Northstar is for.)

Anyone going to England for the Olympics and have a suitcase I can hitch a ride in? I’ve got a place to stay, I just can’t afford the ticket… 😉  Okay, can’t afford to miss the work either, but hey, who’s counting…

Also still looking for a job at a nonprofit. Not having much luck, or I don’t have the right skill sets they need. No word back from Mongoose. Anyone need a website designed or maintained? 😉

Cold seems to have finished up, to be followed simply by allergy trouble. Yay, dust! And now my tummy is cranky, with food. Not that I’m not eating, just that it doesn’t seem to like anything I eat. Trying rice today, that’s completely neutral, right? We’ll see.

Getting on towards summer now. Temps in the 80s this week. Maybe warm weather will get me eating healthier. Without so much a desire for hot food. Just have to get past the stress eating habit as well. Mom’s retiring this summer, so I’m also having fantasies of homemade tomato paste this fall. 😉  There are so many farmers markets down here, plenty of tomatoes… will have to convince my brother to let them use his kitchen though, mine’s no good for that. Would also have to convince them to come down to visit in October, according to Google, that is the local picking month.

So much to plan for this summer, and we haven’t even begun. Need WorldCon roommates. Need Boise flight tickets. Need a Maine trip plan. And that’s just the big stuff. Really want to get to Cedar Point this year. Birthday plans. Anniversary plans. I don’t even know what I’m doing for Memorial Day weekend. <pipedream>  Anyone want to send me to England in June? ::laughs:: </pipedream>

We are in a new financial year at work, so hours are picking back up a little. Microsoft invested in our nook business, so that should be interesting. I’m still waiting for Love Sucks by Sage Collins to be available through the nook store. Cuz I’m stubborn like that.  Had a great time at the Chocolate Cafe with her, Shayera and their writing friends. Exquisite Corpse made for some very entertaining stories. A few even made sense.

I really do need to get back to Ireland some day. Preferably during one of the many gaming conventions, most preferably, during WARPCon. But not just for the fun and silliness of gaming and raising a glass with old friends. I really didn’t get to see much of the country last time because I was a student. We did do a bit of rambling, thank you Brian and Brian, but there is still more I want to see. England, too for that matter, I only saw a university campus when I was there last time. Some day. 🙂

On the idea of goals and dreams, I sent in my resume to WOTC for freelance editing, just in case they’re looking for any. They’re putting out a lot of material these days, I figured it was worth a shot. Especially as I now have experience in the field, unlike last time I applied, straight out of college.  I also put my name in the hat for a web design opportunity through a friend. We’ll see if anything comes of that. Excited about finding new opportunities, anyway.

Had a zag this past weekend celebrating with friends in Cleveland for the 25th anniversary of their ship. Trying to be good until April now. At least mostly good. Supplementing boredom with fruit, I’ve got bananas and cuties on the shelf now. Looking at a blender for smoothies, but I don’t have money for that right now.

One of the offices that my records show us owing money to, called us back and left a message to say they owed Us money instead and are sending us a check. I tried to call them back today, but after over an hour on hold I had to go to work. Maybe they’ll send a statement with the check. I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I also don’t want to turn around and get bitten in the butt by it. Really want to get these debts taken care of, but must have a massive change in income to do that. We are working on that as best we can, though. Prayers, good thoughts and any contacts or leads would be appreciated. 😉
