Finally went through all the papers that have been piling up in my office for a couple years and did a few loads of shredding while I was at it. A clean office and living room have been accomplished this weekend. As well as watching Endgame, and having a nice long walk and some good exercise.

At work, we are heading into finals, so there’s a therapy dog visiting this week and next. I have a conference down town for half the week on Best Practices for digital preservation/repositories. Really looking forward to that. I am also working on putting together a webpage to hold the English 1100’s Open Textbook project. (And arguing with onClick tooltips that they requested.)

Heading into a busy May. Mother’s Day, MarCon, and Barfleet Summer Games. And I have the puppy and kitty for four days. Yay puppy and kitty, boo long drive in to work. πŸ˜‰

In audiobooks, I have taken a break from Wishes and Wellingtons (Julie Berry), and am attempting First Grave on the Right (Darynda Jones), but I am not sure I’ll make it through. I also have Provenance (Leckie) waiting in the wings, as well as Dragonlance’s Vinas Solamnus (J. Robert King) because Liam O’Brien narrates it. In comics, I finished this run of DIE and got halfway through Alias v. 3. I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the comics on my list, so not sure what will be next. Endgame was spectacular, though.

Final Finals Week July 30, 2015

This is my last finals week, ever! Yay! Β One final is done, all but for replying to any questions my classmates have. The other has a good amount of work left to do. All the tricky stuff, of course. But it’ll hopefully be pretty when I’m done. Well, as pretty as a non-graphic designer can make it. πŸ˜‰

Next week is vacation, and I got work all sorted out – they wanted me to come back and work on Friday – so I have the entire week off. Yay! Vacation! Β Means I get all my PTO before I quit. Still need to write That letter, though they know it’s happening.

Eeks wants to take me to a Krav class while I’m up in Michigan. That should be interesting. Other than that, planning on lots of relaxing in AC. πŸ˜‰

Back to work now.

Happy Birthday to Me! July 23, 2015

I turn 35 tomorrow. Thought I’d be a little further along by now, but I’m doing well, and am starting a new career, so I’d say I’m in a good place. I have friends and family who love me, who care for me. And while my health annoys me on occasion, I’m doing fairly well there, too. All things considered.

Tomorrow, I, and three friends, are going to Cedar Point to celebrate two of our birthdays. I am so very much looking forward to riding all the coasters again. πŸ™‚ Hopefully, I’ll remember sun screen often enough.

In other news, I’m on the final stretch of my two final projects. My site is half up, and my digital library is mostly complete. I just have some tweaking to do, mostly visual. I still need to design a header banner for my site – never was very good with graphics. But all in all, my classes are wrapping up fairly well. I’m a bit behind on my python class this week, but I should be able to catch up Saturday afternoon. It’s kind of a “the points are made up and the grades don’t matter” class, so I’m not too worried about it. But still, I’ll get it done in time.

Then, once all is said and done, I’ll be heading north for a week. Going to visit Michigan a bit at the beginning of August. πŸ™‚

Thanksgiving next week. I’ll be having lunch with my brother, sis-in-law, and their kids. So, that’ll be fun, and tasty.

I do have to work opening on Black Friday – come get your new Nook/Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. But That means I get off work in the early afternoon and can just relax the rest of the weekend.

And by relax, I mean work on my term project for Digital Libraries. So close to done for the semester. πŸ™‚

Not much else going on, really. πŸ™‚
