Today is the first day of December, the first day of Advent. The weather, after briefly warming up Tuesday and Wednesday, has dropped down to winter temperatures. Tomorrow, I will be putting up the last of my curtains to keep it out. With the help of a couple friends.

I had a nice Thanksgiving weekend with the puppy. Watched a very good, very hard fought football game between UofM and OSU, on an actual TV and everything (usually, I’m seeing the poorly broadcast Gamecast on ESPN). I also got my haircut in preparation for my interview tomorrow (good thoughts, please). Not a very Good picture, but here’s what it looks like:

New Hair Cut

This weekend looks to be a quiet affair. Possibly going to watch people bowl tomorrow night. And I’ve borrowed some Lego Harry Potter Wii games from the library. 😉

I’m a good bit into Cursor’s Fury by Butcher, and I got Harm None by Sellars from Audible to listen to next. New D&D campaign has begun in a haunted puzzle house, so that was a really fun start this week.

The holiday season is fully upon us, and I’m still trying to decide about decorating.

Discovered this week that I did not get the job I was waiting to hear from, when I checked the status on their site. So two more applications out, and a lot more searching has been done. I did hear from my advisor that my internship evaluation is complete and I’m all set to graduate, so that’s excellent.

I also got a haircut: Haircut

I spent two afternoons this week learning. I took two OhioNet Webinars. The first an introduction to MARC records, and the second, an introduction to the differences that RDA brought in comparison to the old AACR2 model. Both were very well done, and informative. I think my notes were as long as the PDF of the presentation. I didn’t get into cataloging classes, so I’m making up for it on my own.

Starbase Indy was a very fun con over the weekend. Mostly spent with my Barfleet family. There was some wandering about a dealers room and an auction, with occasional peeks into panels. We, of course, also watched the UM vs OSU football game in the Lounge. Not as fun for me as it was for the rest of my friends. 😉

A relaxing weekend ahead, and lots more job applications to come, and hopefully some interviews.

Nights are getting cooler, though days are still mostly oppressively hot. But fall is on its way. 🙂

Had a nice weekend. Hung out with friends. Wandered around Easton, including the Lego Store, Jenni’s, and at least one kitchen store. Watched OSU’s opener Monday night on a big screen with other friends. All in all, not a bad way to begin September. Much larger group gathering this weekend.

Internships are both going well, even went to a meeting with a bunch of Digital Librarian type people from all over the state on Wednesday (OhioDIG: Ohio Digital Interest Group). That was really interesting, learning about OSU’s big digital reorganization, and getting to tour the Westerville Public Library’s archives department.

Relaxing weekend. Hung out with friends on Friday. Watched OSU’s homecoming football game with the pup and cat on Saturday, while doing my final Tech homework assignment. My Foundations book put me to sleep for a bit on Sunday. Saw my old boss in one of my lecture videos, she is now director of the KSU Archives and Special Collections.

Monday was grand adventure day. A group of us drove to Virginia and back to retrieve an ebay purchase made of cast iron. It was fun and the weather was as beautiful as the scenery. We stopped at a local BBQ place for lunch with one of the guy’s friends. The smoked meat was nice and juicy, which was good as I wasn’t as keen on their sauces.

One more week to finish the Tech class group website and that class is done. Foundations is end loaded with work, but it will be the only thing I’m working on in November. Next week is Spring registration, as well. Class choices are pretty well set with cores, but a workshop is still to be chosen.

For those interested in such things, we’ve started a new campaign on Tuesday – playing goblins in Undermountain. I’ve started a new blog to chronicle the adventure: Skeeter in Undermountain. English majors beware, it is in goblin voice.

Halloween party this weekend and things just get crazier next week. And so it begins.
