I’m getting more used to working two jobs again, but it’s still quite tiring, what with everything else still going full steam. But the files are now all in order, though 21 of the boxes don’t have homes yet. And that number is just Not going to work out well.  I have about one box of unfiled papers still needing put in the right folders. And then that project is done. They’ve asked me to stay four more weeks, with the suggestion that the library could use my help ( right now it’s a bunch of boxes of books and some empty fixtures). So we’ll see how that goes.

It’s October, the holiday season is upon us. I am once again pondering the effort and expense of a Halloween costume. I have hardly bothered since becoming an adult. (Yeah, laugh all you want 😉 ) Don’t know that it’s going to change this year either. The holiday displays are going up in the store and next month, holiday hours start piling up. I don’t know what this IS going to mean for my schedule, but it Could be good things. It will mean the insanity of another retail Christmas. The school doesn’t seem interested in hiring me permanently, so no escape valve, yet.

Health is doing alright. It’d be doing better if I was more conscious of taking care of myself. I’m trying to be, but everything is so busy. Got fresh fruits and veggies yesterday. Eating more salad as I rush between jobs. My jobs are very physical, but actual exercise would be good for me. Remembering to take the meds I asked for every day would probably be good for me, too. 😉 All in all, though, I’m doing well.

Just got my copy of The Legacy of Heroes this week. Is pretty. Our BSG-based game with it is going along well. We are actually able to kill some of the suits now. (Toaster being anachronistic in a fantasy world, but suits of armor seems a fitting alternative.) And we’ve gotten our call to the oracle, so that’s up soon. Somehow my monk is still alive. And soon, she might even be effective, thanks to our GM’s gift. Fun stuff.

Oops. I just noticed I didn’t post last week. Sorry about that, dear readers, I imagine it was a busy day and then the weekend swept me away.  I had a terribly productive week last week. I started attacking our Junk Closet, I did a lot of house cleaning, including fixing our vacuum enough to do a bit of sweeping. Friends have given us their old, fully working vacuum this week, so thank you to them. I cleaned out both my desk areas and sent off checks to pay state and local taxes. I emptied our trading account for the time being, until we can afford to play that game again. And I bought groceries for the month… or so.

This week I started creating an outline of a budgeting class for friends who’ve asked me for advice. Sent it to my Mom and got some very useful feedback. Anyone who is interested should let me know if I haven’t already contacted you with details.

Work is work, and the managers find new and interesting ways to torment us. All in the name of productivity. I’ve got two zone maintenance shifts this week, though, so I’m feeling pretty good.

Going to relax with friends in Cleveland this weekend – my official March zag day.  Pondering putting a good blender on my Amazon list – with fruit added into my diet, smoothies are sounding better and better. Especially as my frozen blueberries didn’t turn out nearly as tasty as I had hoped.

Health is doing alright. It could be better, but I think I’d have to get rid of a bunch of stress first. Working on it, bit by bit.

Life is wonderful. I am grateful every day for what I have.

Cookie cravings ruled this last week. Desserts were my downfall. Which is strange, I didn’t grow up on desserts. We rarely ever had them, we ate enough dinner, we rarely had room for them anyway. But this week, desserts were just calling to me, begging to be eaten. And to top it all off on Monday, Cheesecake Factory apologized for the crappy OJ they served us by giving us a free dessert of our choice: I chose Apple Crisp… fruit is good for me, right? And it wasn’t any of the Many Many dairy options… Ah rationalization. So I’ve “lived a little” more than usual this past week. I promise to behave for a while, now. At least until Thanksgiving next Thursday.

Things are going well, though, Doc’s happy with me, blood tests are normal. Only my elbow is inflamed. I’ve put back on a little of the weight I lost, and that makes me happy. Now if I could just find my motivation to exercise… And that’s the thing. I know I should and all, but I have no motivation. And without significant motivation, I Will Not make the time. So here I am, doing well, but not as well as I could be. And the worst of it, I’m happy where I am, satisfied with my life. Finding motivation to move beyond that, is difficult.

Had half a zag day for the Halloween party this past weekend in Cleveland. Lots of No Bake cookies, a few drinks, some bread and then Bacon Waffles and Bacon for breakfast. Mmmm bacon!  I’m feeling better about the whole thing. I’m sticking with it for the most part, but I’m not denying myself quite so much, or guilting myself for slips. I want to be as healthy as I can, but I also want to live my life happily. A little bread with my salad is okay, even if it’s not yeast-free or spelt. Some hot cider is not great for me, but it makes my throat feel so much better. Fruit and fresh juice is far healthier than chocolate or other candy or soda. I like vegetables and my tummy likes almond butter far better than peanuts. Need to work on some soup recipes(haven’t I said this before?) with the cold weather coming on. All in all, I’m feeling better about things.

An interesting week. I had my birthday last Friday, so I zagged wonderfully. Had watermelon for breakfast, a whole half of a watermelon. Apparently that was a bit too much fresh fruit, as my stomach became unhappy fairly quickly. But recovered in time for Lunch at Red Lobster. Lots of Cheddar Bay Biscuits, a nice House Salad with French dressing, a Maple Glazed Grilled Chicken Breast, Vegetables and Baked Potato, as well as Raspberry Lemonade. Delicious! Then we went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Too full from lunch for Movie snacks. It was a good movie, I thought. Then home to homemade meaty and cheesy pizza and strawberry gelato a la Zack. Both were Very tasty, but my tummy is normally unhappy with dairy, so I didn’t eat a Whole lot of either. Then off to CJ’s for drinks, s’mores, lime tortilla chips and hot tubbing. It was a fairly quiet affair, very nice and relaxing.

Saturday morning I ate a good chunk of Zach’s Irish Soda Bread with soy butter. MMmmmm yum! Then spent the day and night with Rich. A very lovely rainy Saturday. Sunday Mike and I went to Cedar Point, where I had Two Salads, and part of a chocolate covered frozen banana. And I believe I now have ridden every ride in the park. Yes, he even got me on both sides of the Power Tower. Then we went to Outback for dinner and I had salad, salmon and veggies, but also about a loaf and a half of bread and butter.

Monday and Tuesday were stressful, but alkaline, and today I’m thinking about making a few changes to my diet for sanity’s sake. I want to keep doing this, but some frustrations are pushing me to the breaking point. Apples and Bananas I think at the least. I’m tossing around the idea of more flat bread, without worrying about sprouted grain or alkaline grain so much, pitas and tortillas. Simple foods, not heavily processed things. Not looking to go back to junk food, fast food, sugar, dairy and all that stuff. But I need to find a better balance for myself.
