Sorry for the late post, I fell asleep for three hours when I got home yesterday. I had a great visit with Mom last week. We watched a couple movies and did our usual shopping. We watched The Butler on the new TV and went out to see The Jungle Book in the theater. Both very good, in their own ways. She got me early birthday presents this year of short sleeved work shirts (I’ve never been warm at work before…) and a new TV and stand to put it on. (I had to go buy a screwdriver to put it together, I don’t know What happened to the phillips-head I used to have.) She also brought me down her old Wii that she no longer uses with WiiFit, WiiPlay, andWiiSports to boot, as well as Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader. I’ve set it up with the TV, but I haven’t played any of them yet.

Third week at work this week, and first payday. I’m getting all the little bits down now. Still proving I can shelve the way they do, but we’re getting really busy with the kids out of school. Today, I hope to learn how to do a little bit more with their computer systems on the floor (signing in patrons and helping them send print jobs), so I can actually help when I’m out shelving and they ask me questions. Remember, this summer, Everyone can get in on the Summer Reading program at your local branch.

Tomorrow is our Picnic on the Lawn with my Fleet family. Looking forward to spending time with them, relaxing and eating delicious food. I’m still waiting on the last book in the trilogy I was working on, so I spent this month’s credit on Wizard’s First Rule, to have someone else read Goodkind to me.

Just about done with my summer class. A lit review, a post, and two replies left. Wohoo!  Looking forward to my digital classes this fall. All is going well. Now, if I can just get a library job… 😉

Store’s doing alright. The TMNT event is starting in a half hour. This weekend is Game of Thrones and Dr Who/Hobbit days. Should be entertaining.

Going to a women’s event on Saturday to relax and have fun after work.

Not a whole lot exciting right now. Really want to see Guardians of the Galaxy.  Working my way through The First Confessor, and bought Severed Souls this week. Ah, Goodkind… Really should go back and read the first three…. someday… when I have time…

So, the biggest news this week is the NGS (Narrative Game System) Kickstarter began Wednesday morning and we are already 2/3 the way to our goal.

In other news, Happy belated Birthday Uncle John! You are now on my calendar as well. 🙂 Hope you had a great day Saturday. Heading to see my nephew this Sunday to wish him an in-person belated birthday.

In school news, I got a 95% on my first paper. Second paper is due Sunday. The class is going really well. I’m enjoying the discussions and most of the readings. My second class this semester starts Monday. And on the 24th, I get to register for summer session. Everything is going great. Except that a lot of the scholarships are minority only that I’m seeing lately, and the assistantships require me to take one more class a semester than I am planning to, in order to be eligible. :/  Still looking for things to apply for, though. Need to find that bookseller one again.

In reading, I’ve just got the epilogue left and I’m done with the Neverwinter Saga, so I can finally read The Companions, that I bought and had signed last fall. Then I’ve got some Goodkind to catch up on. And maybe Night Angel trilogy after that. Life is good.

Not much to say, just one month down. And the weather still hasn’t caught up. Eeks’ hubby comes home this weekend, so that’s awesome news. My nephew turns 6 Sunday, so Happy Birthday to him. 🙂

Lately, I’ve been enjoying watching NUMB3RS on Netflix, and reading more Drizzt novels by Salvatore. I’m nearly caught up, and some day, need to try The Omen Machine by Goodkind, it’s sitting on the shelf waiting.

Taxes are done and the refund looks good. Health is fairly decent and things are getting taken care of.
