Late posting because Halloween. One party down, two to go. 😉

Internships are going well, just one week left. Unfortunately, this means I have to get up and speak in front of people on Tuesday, but they’re feeding me first, at least. Have really enjoyed both of my internships and learned a ton of practical skills.

I need to find more jobs to apply for, I’m still waiting to hear on a couple. Anybody need a tech savvy librarian? 😉 Excited about this new chapter in my life.

No food pictures this week, been so busy. I did a lot of chopping and freezing, but not so much on the eating any of it yet. Anyone have good recipes for a summer squash/pumpkin hybrid?

Life is good!

Six weeks down, four to go. So very excited to start the next chapter of my life. Now I just have to get past the application/interview process. I can do this. 🙂 (Well, okay, I need that diploma to arrive, too…)

Really enjoying listening to the Dresden Files on audio. I’m on White Night, and loving every one. I was told I’d get tired of it after awhile, and was given World War Z, too, just in case. But so far, when I finish each one, I just want to start the next.

Got another squash, some more potatoes, some carrots, and onions, some apples and even a tiny jar of real maple syrup this week. I see a stew in my future. 🙂 In the meantime, this was my first ever Roasted Acorn Squash:

An hour and a half of stuff to do tomorrow, then I’ll officially be halfway through my internships. Now it’s time to start applying for jobs and going to conferences. Currently have one scheduled for October and emailed about volunteering for one in November. There’s one this weekend that would have been interesting, but I am exhausted, and I need to focus on making a plan and getting some rest. I have a very busy couple of months coming up.

Camping, Halloween parties, conventions, and holidays, wee!

Enjoying my cantaloupe, zucchini and potatoes from my CSA, this weekend will be the squash and setting up the order for next week.

Fall Equinox earlier this week, officially time for all the pretty leaves. Looking forward to a beautiful Autumn.

Had a good party with Fleet friends last weekend. This weekend is for the relaxing. I also did a Lot of Cleaning after the fleet party. Finally shredded or filed all the papers that have been piling up since I moved in here over two years ago. My office looks so nice and clean now.

Week four at the internships, all the details will be posted in their respective blogs tomorrow, but I did a lot of good work this week at Otterbein, and got a ton of pictures, letters, and historical documents uploaded at CML.

This was also my first week of the CSA. New Century CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) brought my first batch of fresh produce Wednesday morning – in time for me to get to work by 9am no less. I got a cantalope, a seedless watermelon, a head of red and green lettuce, a zuccini, a head of garlic, a small bag of sweet potatoes, and one of white potatoes, a butternut squash and an acorn squash. I’ve eaten half the watermelon and a handful of smaller white potatoes so far. Very tasty!  I have to look up recipes for the squash, but I’m going to have a bunch of the lettuce tonight with dinner.

Nights are getting cooler, though days are still mostly oppressively hot. But fall is on its way. 🙂

Had a nice weekend. Hung out with friends. Wandered around Easton, including the Lego Store, Jenni’s, and at least one kitchen store. Watched OSU’s opener Monday night on a big screen with other friends. All in all, not a bad way to begin September. Much larger group gathering this weekend.

Internships are both going well, even went to a meeting with a bunch of Digital Librarian type people from all over the state on Wednesday (OhioDIG: Ohio Digital Interest Group). That was really interesting, learning about OSU’s big digital reorganization, and getting to tour the Westerville Public Library’s archives department.

Had a good visit with my parents. Mom and I went to see Minions and Jurrasic World on Sunday. They were both a lot of fun. Dad told me stories and we reminisced about old TV shows. We had our usual Red Lobster family dinner, and even watched some Golf together. Mom also insisted on the Shopping. So we got groceries and had an unexpectedly successful trip to Kohl’s, landing me three new pair of work pants for my internships.

I had a great talk with my Columbus Metropolitan Library supervisor on Monday. A lot of really fun projects coming up that I can help with. (Note: my definition of fun is Certainly different than yours… unless you are also a (digital) Librarian.) So, even more excited for September to get here.

Today, I also signed up for a local Fall CSA (New Century) that will deliver me fresh vegetables every other week for two months starting at the end of September. If it goes well, I will definitely be signing up in the spring for Summer and Fall next year. I’m really bad at getting to the store for fresh fruits and veggies. Though, as it is supposed to be for a small family, I may need help eating it all… or preserving it for winter. 🙂

Two weeks, and 8 work days left at B&N.
