I’m getting more used to working two jobs again, but it’s still quite tiring, what with everything else still going full steam. But the files are now all in order, though 21 of the boxes don’t have homes yet. And that number is just Not going to work out well.  I have about one box of unfiled papers still needing put in the right folders. And then that project is done. They’ve asked me to stay four more weeks, with the suggestion that the library could use my help ( right now it’s a bunch of boxes of books and some empty fixtures). So we’ll see how that goes.

It’s October, the holiday season is upon us. I am once again pondering the effort and expense of a Halloween costume. I have hardly bothered since becoming an adult. (Yeah, laugh all you want 😉 ) Don’t know that it’s going to change this year either. The holiday displays are going up in the store and next month, holiday hours start piling up. I don’t know what this IS going to mean for my schedule, but it Could be good things. It will mean the insanity of another retail Christmas. The school doesn’t seem interested in hiring me permanently, so no escape valve, yet.

Health is doing alright. It’d be doing better if I was more conscious of taking care of myself. I’m trying to be, but everything is so busy. Got fresh fruits and veggies yesterday. Eating more salad as I rush between jobs. My jobs are very physical, but actual exercise would be good for me. Remembering to take the meds I asked for every day would probably be good for me, too. 😉 All in all, though, I’m doing well.

Just got my copy of The Legacy of Heroes this week. Is pretty. Our BSG-based game with it is going along well. We are actually able to kill some of the suits now. (Toaster being anachronistic in a fantasy world, but suits of armor seems a fitting alternative.) And we’ve gotten our call to the oracle, so that’s up soon. Somehow my monk is still alive. And soon, she might even be effective, thanks to our GM’s gift. Fun stuff.

Office is fully packed Including the junk closet. Bathroom is half packed and the bedroom has a couple boxes out of it. Some stuff has been thrown out, some has been donated, some sold for a pittance. A bag of donation clothes is forming in the hallway as well. My note about getting someone to cover my shift is gone, so I’ll call a couple possibles tomorrow. Hours are good, but getting the keys before everyone is sitting around waiting with a truck full of stuff would be better. People have donated tons of boxes, I think I might have enough at this point. We’ll see. Excited for the move, but still a lot to do.

Lovely picnic with friends this weekend. Smoked brisket and pulled pork and a deep fried turkey. Delicious. And the weather was nice this year. I even managed not to get a sunburn.

Father’s day is coming up. Thank you, Dad, for always being there and being understanding.

Oh! Went to the doc, got back on Plaquenil and Naproxen. She was impressed, but we’re gonna try to get me up that last little bit to great.

So much to do, I can’t stay focused to write much more. I don’t think next week is going to be any better. 😉

It snowed yesterday and been cold all week. March going out like a lion, hopefully means much better weather next week. It’s Ohio, I don’t figure we’re fully out of snow season until May, but still hoping April is good and warm.

Lots of birthdays the first week of April. My Mom, and two good friends in the first four days. Happy Birthday everyone. 🙂

I was chatting with Rich today about work and how much I appreciated him working a job he hates to keep us afloat, and he commented I was doing the same thing, I just wasn’t getting hours. But that’s not true. I do like my job. I like working at the bookstore. What I don’t like is the pressure from Corporate to meet seemingly unreasonable performance goals. I know the market is tough and we have to make a profit, but ever increasing goals can become unreasonable for anyone.

Rich’s getting more interviews lately, so we’re carefully hopeful. I found a possible new place to live come June, 550 more square feet for $150 less a month. Going to check it out soon, see if it’s too good to be true, or if we’re going to apply.

I continue to fight with my body, and my diet. But I’m doing pretty well. A little Naproxen here and there is far better than what I used to do.  Just wish my elbow would behave.

Occasionally pondering starting a web design business and changing HydyPaige.com or registering another domain for a portfolio of what I can do. I really like WordPress and am pondering taking the time to learn it better and learn Joomla. One thing at a time. That might be my next big project. I work better with deadlines.

So, another month down, 9 more to go. 🙂

Dragon*Con. Most of this last week was taken up by being in Atlanta, Georgia at Dragon*Con. I had a spectacular time, attending eleven writing panels, getting Peter David and Alan Dean Foster to autograph books, listening to Tom Smith, going to parties… and yes, eating Alkaline. I took with me: almonds, romaine lettuce, snow peas, sesame basil crackers, barely ripe bananas and granny smith apples. For dinners I mostly at at a Japanese food court place that had a Delicious Soba Noodle Salad. Here and there, I had regular salads(Subway and Metro Diner). I was back on my full course(sans Enbrel) of drugs(Prednisone, Plaquenil, Arava, Naproxen) to get things back under control. I came home from the con feeling far better than when I had left, flares all gone and even my pesky cough has dissipated.

Food of the Week: Soba Noodle Salad
