I have spring break next week, but I still have a couple of assignments to finish for this week before I can really relax. And even then, I’ll probably do some homework to get ahead next week anyway. But yay, spring break!

Work is going along, some major reorganization of sections on the book floor. So that’s fun, even more so because I actually got to help with it today. Yay, for productivity. New receiving manager has actually started being receiving manager, so that’s helpful. No news yet on the job front.

Lots of things to do with friends this weekend. Looking forward to relaxing, and maybe even watching some old Trek. Gotta get laundry and homework done, first though. Making a noodle/pasta/chicken conglomerate for dinner tonight (and lunch tomorrow… and maybe dinner, too). Hope it turns out alright. I really have to get better at going grocery shopping regularly.

Life is good, and Spring officially starts this weekend. Happy Birthday Alyssa!

Not feeling well, so this’ll be a short post.

Finished my Database Driven Websites workshop on Sunday, got 100% on it. Was fun, learned new things. Learned even more new things about databases the next day. Yay databases!

One more week plus a couple days for my Organization class. Semester nearly complete!

Need to take time for me this weekend, stressing out too much over things I cannot control.

Got new meds from the doc this week, too. Sulfasalazine (generic of Azulfidine) and a anti-inflammatory compound. We shall see if these help.

How is it almost May already?

So, biggest news of the week, after nearly two months, they finally reattached my dryer vent to the tube. I got to do laundry in my very own building this week, and more to do this weekend because I got sleepy and watched Tom Clancy movies instead of finishing.

The NGS Kickstarter is fully funded and well on its way to stretch goal #2, so that’s Awesome. Lots of fun little extras and posts and such going up each day. Check it out if you haven’t already.

My Organization of Information class looks like it is going to be full of useful information and practical skills, so I’m excited about that. My Access class has a fun project this week – using actual almanacs, dictionaries and encyclopedias to find random bits of information. I had forgotten how much crazy and random facts are in an almanac. I also remembered to apply for the bookseller scholarship in time this year. I remembered to look it up before work on Wednesday and it was due by Feb 28th, so I got it done immediately. Fingers crossed.

It was good to see Pete and the kids this weekend. Though I think they found me a bit boring this time, as I mostly sat and talked with their dad and snuggled the dog.

This coming weekend is not planned with any events. Just relaxing, finishing laundry and getting ahead on homework. 🙂

Published again! My flash fiction piece, Dead Eyes, has been published in a 365 story vampire anthology called Daily Bites of Flesh, by Pill Hill Press.  The anthology should hit Amazon and B&N.com soon.

Hours at the story ramp up as do the holiday sales and shoppers. I really enjoyed getting to work through the games backstock today. Such a geek, but I like making things organized and neat. Pained me a bit to not get to finish cleaning up the receiving shelves, but got a lot of product out onto the floor.

Bookup.com had a great weekend/Black Friday sale. Many CDs and DVDs are being shipped out this week.

I can start applying for jobs on Elance again on Sunday. I have been studying up for my next skills test, only to find that there’s a New edition to the Chicago Manual of Style that I did not know had come out. It’s pale blue, which I find a little bit creepy. Not sure why I like the bright orange better, but I do. They have updated for modern technology and usage according to the jacket cover.

It is December already, the year is almost over. So much done and so much yet to do. Up next, Christmas shopping!

Tomorrow is Halloween and I think I will spend most of it sleeping. It’s been a long week of work and parties, and I’ve got one last one tonight. Spent a lot of the week helping gather materials, set up, and tear down. Sorry about missing Thursday, I was driving to and from Dayton in the morning, getting ready for the evening all afternoon, and then, well, the party that night was epic. Somewhere around 1500 people at the event. Last night was really low key in comparison. I’m hoping that tonight is somewhere in the middle.

On a work front, Rich’s schedule is shifting to allow him Friday and Saturday off, but staying on the same shift. That’ll be cool, for him to have a weekend when everyone else does. I haven’t heard back from either of the jobs I sent proposals to, but I’ll be finding some more to submit to tomorrow. With the arrival of holiday payroll, I have more hours at the store this week. Mike and I are getting things organized for my work at Bookup. I’m looking to take on a list of very specific projects and get more organized to see if we can get even better results.

Health-wise I’m doing fairly well. Staying up for 46 hours actually had me moving with ease and mostly painless. It’s those 8 hours of lying still to sleep that make me the most stiff. Haven’t figured out a solution to that yet. Any suggestions? Had a full zag day on Thursday – nutty pancakes and bacon for lunch, Hound Dogs pizza for dinner and chocolate pancakes, bacon and an English muffin for breakfast. Delicious. But salads are good for me, and back on track I go. I need to do some recipe research and reread the pH Miracle again, at least the wife’s parts on cooking and the pantry.

So much to do, and running low on time.
