This past weekend was really busy and fun. A coed baby shower for friends, with a game of who can diaper and dress the babydoll fastest, dad or mom? In which they tied. A lot of good food, even some tasty veggies. Then off to an Eddie Izzard marathon for excellent stand-up, movies and TV, with good food and good friends again. Sunday a Tea Party for a friend’s birthday, with lovely tea cakes and sandwiches. A very nice time was had by all. This coming weekend is full of work (forty hours scheduled this week), and visiting my brother’s family on Sunday.

Pain’s been a bit high this week, especially today. Lots of heavy boxes. Need more veggies, less sugar. Insurance cards on their way as well. My dentist really wants to see me… they’ve been calling for my six month appointment for about six months now.

We have nearly got all our bills down to reasonable payments, just waiting for the last couple to call us back so we can tell them what we are going to be paying them from here out. All the payments will come out of our HSA, and the deposit each month will be equal to the payments. We have decided to cash in half of our savings to get the car loan fiasco straightened out, we made the mess, we will fix it. So, with everything heading in the right direction, by Wednesday our budget could be balanced again and we can focus on more important things.

Rich is putting out feelers for a better job. I am looking at markets with fresh (if sleepy) eyes. I really enjoy working for Bookup.com and I am hoping we get things moving on an upward slope, business has been going better but there is a lot of work to do. Barnes & Noble is a good company, and all the strange news right now just has to do with stocks, but it may be time for me to move on. I enjoy my schedule and free time it allows, but there could be better things just waiting for me to find them.

Health is going fairly well. Has its ups and downs. Some days I hurt more than others, but nothing like the debilitating pain I used to have. Lower stress and better eating helps so much.

Food of the week: Spelt Pizza topped with tomato sauce, broccoli and spinach

Tossed out a flash fiction story to an anthology, got back an acceptance today. It’s been a very long time since I’ve gotten one of those. Not a big market or any pay, but it is a fun little vampire anthology, one story for each day of the year.

Still waiting to hear back on potential car trade-in arrangements. No word from the bank. Nissan offered a car that was more than we wanted. Still looking for something cheaper. Still listed on Craigslist, though I really don’t think that’s going to go anywhere at this point. We’ll figure it out though. Hopefully without too many more random letters from banks telling us they aren’t approving a loan we didn’t know we’d applied for.

Elbow hurts today, but shoulders and such are all feeling pretty good. Trying to get back to mostly raw again, but I like warm food and it’s heading into fall again. Eating as much salad as I can manage, though. And wheatgrass juice a few times a week. The change in weather has my head and lungs all confused this week, too.

Really looking forward to the next two weekends with friends. Life is good.
