All the rain lately. At least it’s fairly warm. Warm rain is nice to play in. If not drive in.

Internships mostly set for the fall. Just a few details left to sort with CML. Scheduling manager notified – but I haven’t written the official letter, yet. Going to be working on improving the Otterbein Institutional Repository. So, that should be a really good project.  Really need to get the rest of the paperwork to my advisor tomorrow.

Not as far into homework as I planned to be at this point, this week. But I’ve Friday afternoon and all day Saturday to finish it up. Life and exhaustion happened.

A friend passed this week. Prayers and thoughts with his family and everyone who knew him.

I certainly hope there will be plenty of May Flowers coming soon.

Everything is full of the busy. School chugs along. Trying to set up time to work with my partner on our Final Project. We have to watch each other do searches, then write about it… together. Not my favorite thing in the world. only two and a half weeks left. So much to still get done.

Work is just making me angry this week. Thieving thieves, who don’t care that I’m standing right there.

Getting together with friends on Friday, and then spending the whole weekend on homework. Weee!

And it’s raining. So much rain this week. Winter has started with a week of 50+ degree weather and rain storms. Not even fun rain storms. No lightning or thunder, just wet. Not that I really want to drive in snow, but I really don’t like driving in rain either. And people are just as accident prone, either way.

Busy, busy work days. It makes the time fly by, but also makes breaks hard to come by. Lunch, no problem, but the 15s didn’t happen today. There’s just no way to have enough people working to take care of all the customers, so I just run from one to the next for 4 hours at a time. (Lunch break in the middle of the 8 hour shift.)  Only have had one really cranky customer myself so far, and as it wasn’t my fault, so I passed it off to a manager without a guilty conscience.

Got the last bit of wrapping I needed, and will probably be making more Chex Mix tonight. I wanted to make stuffing, maybe next week. I do not want to brave the stores the next couple days any more than my work schedule requires. Looking forward to Christmas dinner with my Brother and family. Also looking forward to The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Everybody have a Merry Christmas this weekend. 🙂

Spring Rains April 29, 2011

The weather has been crazy. Rain and wind and storming all over the place. Massive damage down south, but only minor damage around here. I love spring storms. Listening to them, walking in them, reveling in them. I missed them so much when I lived in Boise. Something about washing away the dullness of winter and bringing everything back to life again. It fills me with happiness and energy. And, as noted last week, the spring cleaning bug.

I always use cleaning to procrastinate, but in spring, it gets crazy. Cleaning closets and emptying drawers, getting rid of the old to make space for the new. When money allows, buying new – new clothes is an odd new fad for me. Hurray for Ohio Thrift end of the month sales. Still ought to get a new pair of work pants. I’ve also got the moving bug this year, I want more space. So, I look around and think packing on top of cleaning.

A quiet week for me. Relaxing and writing cleaning. Exciting things coming up, though. Conventions and a wedding. Rich starts his new job officially on Monday. A regular schedule again at last.

Cleaning beckons, and I’m away.

Shots in the dark are still waiting to land. Insurance reconsidered the bill, so they really do owe us money, so that’ll help pay other bills. Another friend considering hiring me for web design. And the gift of a blender from someone who found she did not need to keep hers. A decent week, all in all.

I’ve felt rather fidgety all week. The weather won’t make up its mind if it is spring or not yet. Yesterday, most of all. It went from 70 degrees and sunny, to windy and overcast with tornado watches, to pouring down rain, to hailing, back to 70 degrees and sunny and then down to freezing and snow. I feel like that, too. I’m on the verge of new beginnings, but I keep going backwards or round in circles, not quite ready to take that last, fully committed step into Spring. I still have the lethargy of winter hibernation tugging at me, whispering sweet dreams in my ears, if only I’d lay back down.

So much to do, so little time. I have to wake up now and get moving. Set deadlines, meet goals, create the life I want to live. All that stuff I keep talking about. Time to Do.

Had a big update last week, not much has changed since then. Two events though.

I went to Cedar Point on Monday, in the rain. It was fun, we got to go on all the stuff we wanted to, except for the top five coasters, closed due to the rain. It was still a fun day. 🙂

Wednesday, Rich and I went to my brother’s house. We got to visit with my mom, sister-in-law, nephew and nieces. We finally got to give our nephew his birthday presents, and he was very polite about it. Even explaining later to his sister that we didn’t make it to his birthday, so we brought him his presents now. The kids are growing up very cute and fairly well behaved.  Kudos to my big brother and his wife.  We gave him two Berenstain Bears books, and we read them each twice in just a few hours. A nice visit.

Rich’s next surgery is scheduled for the second week in June and he will be Very glad to have that done with, if a bit later than we hoped.

Life is good. I am grateful for all my friends and family.
