Had my Doc appointment early in the week. We added a Prednisone burst for my shoulder(s), and Arava 3x a week for the rest. I’ll be going for All The Blood Tests Ever for $25 in May to make sure everything still looks good once Arava has a chance to kick in. She didn’t even mention my eye doc’s report.

It’s Girl Scout cookie time, and I got my delivery this week. The freezer is full, however, so I haven’t been able to freeze my Thin Mints for proper eating temperature. Thus, all my boxes are still unopened. I did, however, find a bunch of Cadbury Eggs on sale, those Did fit in the freezer for proper cooling.

Went with a friend so he could finally see The Last Jedi late in the week. Today I got up early to see Black Panther, by myself. It was Amazing and Awesome.  Then, I spent the rest of today helping friends clean up a flooded, mostly finished basement. SO Much Water.

I did finish Ship of Destiny, I think it was the best book of the Trilogy. Up next, I’ve got Blood Rites by Butcher, and Black Prism by Brent Weeks. I’m still waiting on  a copy of A Wizard of Earthsea.

One of our Youth Services staff is back from a job swap, so we had a potluck and I made tasty brownies. Later in the week, I had a Valentines dinner with friends and made tasty Dash Chef’s Bread for the first time by myself. I also made Malaysian Pineapple Pizza last weekend, and may do it again tonight, with chicken. MMmmm tasty food… gotta work on tasty Healthy food though.

Today, after all that cooking, is Clean All the Things day. I’m half-way through laundry, all the way through over a week’s worth of dishes, and three trips to the complex dumpster.  Also working on cleaning off flat surfaces in the living room. Sometime soon, I should clean up my office filing cabinet. Also airing out the townhouse with open windows because my last trip upstairs knocked open the gas line to one stove burner for a couple minutes.

I went to inline skating class again yesterday, with helmet and elbow pads added in. Only fell once (accidentally) this time. Getting better at standing up, scissoring, and lean turns and mostly learned a T-stop.

I also went to the eye doctor Thursday. Everything looks fine, my eyes are a little worse, of course. But when I asked how much new lenses are, without insurance coverage, I was told $400. So… Yeah… Hoping my interview turns into a job.

Still working on Ship of Destiny, but it’s really good. 🙂

Well, I decided to start my study weekend with an Inline-Skating lesson at Skate 71. The teachers and other students were all very polite and kind. Even when I fell and knocked myself in the head… twice… But all in all, it was a good time, and after recovering from the second head bounce with some ice, I did do some laps for a while. And now, I’m the proud owner of this:

Silver Skating Helmet

As per usual, interview went well (I think), but I’ve got a while to wait to see how well. Meantime, MLK Library is getting ready for our Past, Present, and Future event, and we’re hoping to have a great panel discussion and photo scanning session with the community.

Valentine’s Party with friends this weekend. Good music, good chocolate, good conversations.

I Finally finished Mists of Avalon. It mostly annoyed me, a lot. Then I tried David Sedaris’ Holidays on Ice. Which annoyed me far more.  So, I’m back to Robin Hobb and Ship of Destiny. Poor ships, they are not doing well.

Had our first snow yesterday and it was cold enough to stick around today. My car’s water pump and heat are now fully fixed. Only took four trips to the shop. 😉 Yay, heat!

Finished Mad Ship, and am nearly done with I am Legend. Up next is probably I am Malala.

I have my first “full-sized” Christmas Tree as an adult thanks to friends having an extra one they were giving away. I’ve put up my nativity set that Mom brought back from Haiti, as well. At work, we had Urban Strings’ Quarternotes in to start off the holiday season at the library yesterday, too.

Christmas Tree

My car continues to go through another repair cycle. New waterpump on Thursday. Sprawl is doing well, making some decent progress on the library itself. I continue interviews and applications, we shall see where life leads.

Ran out of time on Mad Ship, so now I’m listening to Artemis, it’s amusing so far.

Fourth Thanksgiving dinner of the week had, and all enjoyed with good friends. Also had a nice lunch with family on Sunday. Was good to see Mom, Dad, Pete, and the kids. So thankful to have so many wonderful people in my life, and such supportive family.

Looking forward to a weekend of silly gaming. We’re using NGS to play various objects in a wizard tower, defending our home from invading animal-featured homunculi.   Should be a fun and relaxing break from work.

Job search continues, and my boss, while glad I’m not leaving yet, is very supportive of my efforts. As are the rest of my team. I am thankful to have such great coworkers, as well, as two jobs that I enjoy.

I am 3/4 done with Mad Ship, and eager to see how Artemis follows The Martian.

Thank You to all of our Veterans, for serving, sacrificing, and protecting our freedom.

Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my Brother!

On the job search front, I now have a Mentor from SAA (Society of American Archivists), and she’s great. I have filled out a questionnaire for another CML job. In a couple more weeks, I hope to hear on another application. Just keep swimming.

Work is quieter now, with the school season, but there are still the random days off, and the holidays. And, of course, the weekends. With the colder weather, there are more people coming inside to spend their time. I also got to further plans for the MLK archival boxes in a meeting with one of the wonderful community members who helped put the materials together.

Over at Sprawl, I’m still chugging right along. Boss is out of town for a another week and a half. I’ll be tackling the miscellaneous this week.

Looking forward to a busy weekend coming up, including getting to see my family next Sunday.

I finished Ship of Fools and have begun Mad Ship. The series really got me hooked in the second half of Ship of Fools.

Remember, remember…

Watched V for Vendetta with a classic Malaysian Chicken Pizza dinner on a stormy night in celebration of memory and Guy Fawkes.

Library life goes smoothly. Another rejection, another round of applications. Sprawl has been quieter this week. Almost done with the New books. Soon, I’ll be adding more to the miscellaneous collection from all his traveling.

Had a fun night with the girls this weekend. We made 14lbs of soap, and one of lotion bars.

My portion

Finished NPCs, listened to Grave Peril, and then listened to a podcast on the Dark Net and how it came to be. Next up is back to Ship of Fools.

Party season has begun. My first Halloween party last night. We did a super hero murder mystery, and it was great fun. It’s been a long time since I’ve been up to the Cleveland Halloween party. Next weekend, I think I have four parties.

Work is going apace. Working my way through totes of new Hardcovers at Sprawl. Main had their FOL Big Book Sale this weekend. Waiting to hear if I get an interview for a few positions.

In Audiobooks, I ran out of time on Ship of Fools, so I listened to Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Now, I’m working on A Memory of Light.

We had our Ground Breaking ceremony this week, for the new branch. It was a very bright and shiny day. Some good talks, and a very heartfelt speech by one of our volunteens. Then a group of kids, then a group of adults got to turn the dirt. Actual work should be getting started very soon.

A quiet week, otherwise. Birthdays of friends and family, and more Halloween prep. I’ve had a pretty quiet week, with a quiet weekend ahead. Though I may finally take a trip to the IKEA, just to check it out.

Still working on Ship of Fools, I think I’ve got a Pratchett up next.
