It was a nice long weekend of relaxing and not accomplishing much beyond laundry. I did drop off my car to get it fixed, but most of the work was done after the holiday, and now my car drives smooth as ever. Yay!

All the schools have started up again, so my mornings at the library are pretty quiet. We’re reorganizing some of our sections to see if we can up the check-out rates in audio books.  At Sprawl, I’m getting back into Glen Cook’s collection, while Mowgli sorts books he sent back from his WorldCon trip to Europe.

Coming up is some time with the puppy, and some playing of Kingdom Hearts remastered on the PS4. But first, I’m going to a conference tomorrow: 2017 ASIS&T Midwest Regional Conference.

I finished The Republic of Thieves, and Maurice and His Educated Rodents. Now I’m into Towers of Midnight. I’ll finish The Wheel of Time some day soonish, just one more after this.

Another quiet week at work, with lots of shelf-reading. Finished up the current contents of Collection 3 and started into Collection 2 (Glen Cook) at Sprawl. Pretty quiet and peaceful.

Had a weekend with friends. Started a paint-by-number at Girls’ Night In. we’re going to keep working on them over the next few gatherings, as well. I’ve got a quiet weekend ahead, probably car repairs.

Paint-by-Number Sunset, halfway done

Listened to The Princess Diarist and The Witch’s Vacuum Cleaner and Other Stories, and am most of the way through The Republic of Thieves. Next up is The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents.

I don’t know what it is, but I can’t seem to remember to post on time lately. Sorry about that.

Last weekend was the kick-off to our Summer Reading Club. The volunteens all did a great job engaging our customers and getting a lot of people signed up. Which they continued throughout the week. We have 26 volunteens this summer, so far. It’s really great to see them getting involved and encouraging their community to read this summer. It was also the first week of summer break, so we had a lot more kids in during the day. Including field trip groups nearly every day. It was a Very Busy week at the library.

Over the weekend, since I’m late posting. We also had our yearly Picnic on the Lawn with my local fleet family. The food was delicious, the games were fun, and everyone had a good time.

I finished Red Skies Over Red Seas, and this week, I’m going to be listening to The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

I had a wonderful time at Barfleet Summer Games this past weekend. There was, unfortunately, an inordinate amount of rain. This put a damper on both our usual camping arrangement, and our usual circles around the bonfire. However, this led to us all camping much closer together and getting to know each other a lot better. Our socialization was confined to smaller spaces, and so it made for more of a fleet feel, instead of individual ships/bases. This was also bolstered by the two planned group meals, and the two unplanned group meals held in the Pavilion. It was a great time, with 133  of my fellow fleet campers.

In work news, Summer Reading Club starts this Saturday. As does a lot of the kids’ summer breaks. It’s going to be a fun summer. We have a lot of afternoon activities set up for them, and the prizes for SRC are pretty nice for adults and kids.

I finished The Expanse, and then started into Red Seas Under Red Skies by Lynch. However, my next library book became available, so I put that on pause, and started into The Greyfriar by Clay Griffith, read by James Marsters. It’s my first steampunk novel, but I’m not far enough into it yet to know what I think. Speaking of, I watched the 2011 The Three Musketeers last night, it was awesome. 🙂

Forgot to post last week, because I was At MarCon. Thursday was setup and welcome party. Friday I worked all day, and got back in time for dinner, crew meeting, and our first public party. Saturday was a bit more relaxed. I got to play Battletech and have more tasty foods, before crew meeting and the big public party. Sunday was tear down and move out, and our dead dog, where I got to play Zombicide and Jackbox quiz games. And back to work on Monday.

I hope all the Mom’s had a great Mother’s Day on Sunday.

This week starts into Summer Games prep, so I spent four hours typing up dogtags last night. (Thus the post today instead of last night.) I won’t have internet connection next Thursday either, but I’ll TRY to remember to prepare a post ahead of time.

Work is going well. I’m getting a bunch of time to work on my project in the next two weeks for MLK. And then we start Summer Reading Club. Which has gone Digital this year.

Finished Lies of Locke Lamora, and got through Stardust. The audiobook is cool because it even has an interview with Gaiman. Then I listened to The Gathering Storm by Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson. Now, I’m listening to Leviathan Awakes by Corey, because The Expanse is a great show.

I missed last week completely, and yesterday, too. Thanks, Mom, for reminding me. Not a whole lot going on, yet.  This month is when everything happens.

The library’s going well. We’re gearing up for Summer Reading Club. I’ve started cataloging the archival materials. At the warehouse, we’re over 17K books, plus a few thousand magazines.

I’ve finished Good Omens, and I’m most of the way through The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Next up is probably Stardust. We started watching American Gods and The Handmaid’s Tale this week, as well.
