I’m having a hard time keeping days straight with my schedule. One of them is constant, the other is completely moldable, this is not terribly good for my consistency, nor my sense of time. But somewhat good for my sleeping. 😉 I did spend a bit of time taking the paint splatters off my bedroom floor, and a bit in the office, though I’ve got more to go in here.

Not much to report this week. I spent the weekend relaxing at home in comfy clothes and blankets. There was some WoW and some Netflix, and a good deal of sleep. I didn’t get a second interview from my phone interview a couple weeks back. Another month+ before I can start looking at CML postings outside my branch. But I should be getting my preliminary review soon for Whitehall. Health-wise, feeling a bit better this week than last, though the weather has turned sour.

I finished The Martian, and started on Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher. The difference in pace has me struggling a little, but it’s getting interesting. Next up, I think I’m going to try some Myth books by Asprin.

So looking forward to the weekend. I’ve not been sleeping well this week, much sleep will be had come Saturday. 🙂

I am officially registered for my fall Internship Culminating Experience. So, that’s happy and awesome. Classes have calmed down, so that’s good. Just need to finish up a few references and turn in the Case Study, and this week will be done.

New manager is working to get us streamlined and in shape. So far it’s going alright. I got two memberships this week, so far, so that’s major good for me. We’re making Vinyl an even bigger thing, come July, so that should be interesting. Also a TON of pop culture events in July: Dr Who, Minions, Marvel and DC, even a Manga day… and stuff for smaller kids, too like Magic Tree House. Okay, so Minions is a kid event, but I know lots of adults (self included) who love them. So, looks to be a fun month coming up.

I’m definitely taking a break, come August. 😉

Three week management class successfully completed, with an A. Back to 7am shifts at work. So very tired this week. Had to spend two hours at the shop yesterday for an oil change because it took them an hour and a half to get my hood open. Apparently the latch had rusted, they tell me. Some WD40, and all better. Came home and slept the entire evening.

Having fun with friends tomorrow, and then Vacation! Yay!!! Can’t wait to see Kalyn! 🙂

This weekend also holds Father’s Day, my parent’s Anniversary, and Kalyn’s birthday. So a lot of celebrating to do. 🙂

Lots of hanging out with friends this past weekend, and it was good. Going to an arcade, a bowling alley, and a very cheesy 80s movie this weekend. It should also be good, though not so sure I’m going to be much use at the bowling alley.

Found more jobs to apply to, hoping to hear something positive soon. A bit frustrated that a lot of the internships coming across my inbox are for minorities only. A lot of the scholarships are that way, too. Or they’re for full-time students only. I’m one credit per semester shy of qualifying. Ah well, still looking around at things.

The store is gearing up for inventory, and still bleeding employees. So, I’m getting plenty of hours, and some PTO. Good for the budget on both counts. I’m back on 7am shifts, so good for my afternoons, not so good for my sleeping. Ah well, that’s what weekends are for, eh?

Two more weeks til spring. 🙂

Restful Weekend November 1, 2012

A restful weekend that kept on going, for me. Had the days following the parties off so I could sleep (which I the proceeded to do through most of Sunday as well). Then, my job gave me off through Halloween as well. The holiday final set is today and tomorrow, though, so the rest was appreciated. Halloween is now over, we are running headlong for the Christmas season.

I really am thinking I need to take my laptop back to Microcenter. The touchpad issues are just annoying. It clicks in wherever the cursor is, even if I’m nowhere near touching it. On the otherhand, I might just uninstall it and buy an external mouse. Not sure which would be the better option. Maybe all it needs is a reinstall? I have some work I need to get done first, though.

And just because I am that insane, I’m pondering NaNoWriMo again. National Novel Writing Month, for those unfamiliar, is the insanity of a large group of people who decided that November would be a good month to write a novel in. The goal is 50K words in 30 days. I’ve never been successful at it, though I did come close one year when I did it after Christmas instead of before. I just feel like I haven’t done a lot of Creative writing lately, and I miss it. I’m not sure, we’ll see, full length novels have never really been my forte.

8 Days til Christmas December 17, 2010

Eight shopping days until Christmas. All the presents for other people bought and waiting for wrapping. I am certain I don’t have enough paper, but I will deal with that when I run out. Still need to sort out family gatherings between work schedules. Shooting for a Saturday afternoon sometime soon. So far, I have gotten myself shoe polish, a 2011 Moleskine planner, a video cable for my Netbook, and hosiery. The kids, of course, have far more interesting stuff in their bags. And the wheelbarrow arrived today.

I’m working all the holidays we’re open – Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Yay, overtime… though I’d gladly trade it for some sleep on the 1st of 2011. We’re open normal hours that day for some reason this year. Seems an odd decision, I wonder who made it.

Working a lot more at the store has filled up my days and left me little time and energy for my other career pursuits lately. I need to get those moving again so I don’t drop them completely. Five 7am shifts in a row leaves me awfully tired, though, and I still have lots of other things to attend to. Which are far more interesting than being rejected over and over, but that’s the life of a writer.

Health is doing well. Feeling mostly pain free, with only a little swelling most days. Have discovered Prego 100% Natural isn’t all that terrible for me. Yes there’s sugar, but nothing else I’m not supposed to have. Had some lovely spelt noodles today, too. Microwaves do odd things to sweet potato though, I don’t think I’m ever going to do that again. As always, need more exercise and more restful sleep, but all in all, things are going well.

Why would you use horses to put an egg back together in the first place? Rich’s been put back together and we’re spending the week in hospital recovering.

Working with a new membership system and the old phpbb3 forum for Bookup this week. I’ve got it about half set up. Just the details now. Fingers crossed… again.

The market is going down, time to learn about puts instead of calls.

Brain a little scattered, not much sleep this week.

The holidays are closing in, things are looking up, but stress levels are still hovering a little too high for comfort. I’m taking less Enbrel again, one every couple weeks or so. I’m taking all my drugs, but generally only every other day or so, sometimes more, not really ever less. I’m doing alright. My elbow, flared since September, still isn’t calm, but it’s not really any worse either and it doesn’t hurt. The swelling just goes up and down. I’m a little more tired lately, but that’s got a LOT to do with my work schedule these days, or should I say a lack of a sleep schedule. But, I’m really feeling quite well most of the time.

Rich started his new job recently, and that’s going extremely well. We are very lucky he found a job he really likes. One of the benefits of this job is two free domain names, so Rich is back on the web and he’s offered me the other. I am slowly gathering up all the ideas I’ve been floating the last few months in preparation for a new website. My second job is going quite well. On the side, I’m also learning about investing and covered calls. The year is nearly done, and what a ride it has been. Here’s to the next one.
