Finally went through all the papers that have been piling up in my office for a couple years and did a few loads of shredding while I was at it. A clean office and living room have been accomplished this weekend. As well as watching Endgame, and having a nice long walk and some good exercise.

At work, we are heading into finals, so there’s a therapy dog visiting this week and next. I have a conference down town for half the week on Best Practices for digital preservation/repositories. Really looking forward to that. I am also working on putting together a webpage to hold the English 1100’s Open Textbook project. (And arguing with onClick tooltips that they requested.)

Heading into a busy May. Mother’s Day, MarCon, and Barfleet Summer Games. And I have the puppy and kitty for four days. Yay puppy and kitty, boo long drive in to work. 😉

In audiobooks, I have taken a break from Wishes and Wellingtons (Julie Berry), and am attempting First Grave on the Right (Darynda Jones), but I am not sure I’ll make it through. I also have Provenance (Leckie) waiting in the wings, as well as Dragonlance’s Vinas Solamnus (J. Robert King) because Liam O’Brien narrates it. In comics, I finished this run of DIE and got halfway through Alias v. 3. I’m a bit overwhelmed with all the comics on my list, so not sure what will be next. Endgame was spectacular, though.

Crazy weather week had me running around coatless one day and freezing the next. Sorry for the late post.

Spring Break at work went quietly and well. I got to have a meeting about my big project and get some plans in place. We will have an awareness campaign over the next few months and hopefully be able to provide better resources in a more accessible way to all our students.

In health news, my weight is mostly maintaining a slight downward trajectory. I have started seeing a therapist to work on anxiety and self care to keep my journey going in a healthy direction. I have also started writing a new short story and my drawing is improving, too.

Nervous Goblin: Nott the Brave from Critical Role

I finished listening to Every Heart a Door by Seanan McGuire and now am on to Friday Black, written by Nana Qwame Adjei-Brenyah, the older brother of a good friend. I am also very excited for a new comic coming out this week: A Darkened Wish, written by B. Dave Walters and drawn by Tess Fowler. And also, the Critical Role Kickstarter just surpassed another stretch goal, now reaching over 10 times the original requested amount!

Spring sprang this week, and the weather is slowly catching up. Supposed to be very nice tomorrow. 🙂 Looking forward to warmer weather and flowering things.

Good times with friends over the weekend, even more than expected, but a bit less sleep than I hoped for, as usual. Watched Miss Peregrine’s Home for Unusual Children. It wasn’t quite what I expected, but was still quite good. For cheesy sake, I’m also watching The Librarian trilogy this week. I have also started Dune, but haven’t gotten terribly far, much more time tomorrow to listen.

Looking forward to a busy May, but things are pretty quiet and stable for now. Work is going along nicely. I had the meeting this week to plan for the archival project at MLK. Next step: inventory and discarding or re-homing some non-relevant materials. It’ll be a nice project.

Tonight’s cooking experiment: Garlic and Thyme Roasted Carrots.

It’s trying to be spring, finally. Rain and warm and all. Though forgetting and being Cold every now and then, too. Typical Ohio. Better than out west though, with their tornadoes and hailstorms. Nearly a very  nice day today.

Finished Number of the Beast, with all the worlds colliding. Probably going to pick up Cat Who Walked Through Walls on Audible today, as I’m still waiting on the library copy. Listened to a collection of Drizzt tales in the middle time. Only two more books to go on my current Heinlein list. Might check on Night Angel trilogy by Weeks after this, I’ve been meaning to read it since my brother bought me the omnibus.

Safelite goes as Safelite does. They’re having another job fair on May 7th, if anyone is looking for a job. Still having fun at Sprawl, I had some more Heinlein today, and a bunch of authors I’ve never heard of. A quiet weekend ahead for me. Laundry, and dishes, are my main goal. Maybe hit the dollar theater and the Ohioana Book Festival, if I’m feeling rambunctious.

Snow one day, 60 degrees the next, and then freezing and snow again by end of week. This weather is driving my head and sinuses crazy. I even took a half day today. The wrong half, apparently, as a hazmat spill made my drive home three times as long at end of day. I had fun with it though and drove through Sunbury and Johnstown on my way home. (For those playing the home game, that was 71N to 36/37E to 161W.)

I had intended to do some homework this week, despite spring break, but plans and exhaustion have kept me from working too hard. Probably will pick it up again on Saturday. Really want to at least get my web final done Saturday before I go to a couple birthday parties.

Play-Testing of Legacy of Heroes 2 is going really well. The party is now split into three groups, and no one has died yet. Which is pretty impressive for a lvl 1 party. Nearly done with Book 4 of War Against the Chtorr series, Really enjoying it. Soon to be joining the fans impatiently waiting for decades for the final book. I’m looking at you David Gerrold…

For all my friends and family who read these blog (and pass it on to those who don’t), I love you, and appreciate having you in my life, whether nearby or around the globe.

I have spring break next week, but I still have a couple of assignments to finish for this week before I can really relax. And even then, I’ll probably do some homework to get ahead next week anyway. But yay, spring break!

Work is going along, some major reorganization of sections on the book floor. So that’s fun, even more so because I actually got to help with it today. Yay, for productivity. New receiving manager has actually started being receiving manager, so that’s helpful. No news yet on the job front.

Lots of things to do with friends this weekend. Looking forward to relaxing, and maybe even watching some old Trek. Gotta get laundry and homework done, first though. Making a noodle/pasta/chicken conglomerate for dinner tonight (and lunch tomorrow… and maybe dinner, too). Hope it turns out alright. I really have to get better at going grocery shopping regularly.

Life is good, and Spring officially starts this weekend. Happy Birthday Alyssa!

Lots of hanging out with friends this past weekend, and it was good. Going to an arcade, a bowling alley, and a very cheesy 80s movie this weekend. It should also be good, though not so sure I’m going to be much use at the bowling alley.

Found more jobs to apply to, hoping to hear something positive soon. A bit frustrated that a lot of the internships coming across my inbox are for minorities only. A lot of the scholarships are that way, too. Or they’re for full-time students only. I’m one credit per semester shy of qualifying. Ah well, still looking around at things.

The store is gearing up for inventory, and still bleeding employees. So, I’m getting plenty of hours, and some PTO. Good for the budget on both counts. I’m back on 7am shifts, so good for my afternoons, not so good for my sleeping. Ah well, that’s what weekends are for, eh?

Two more weeks til spring. 🙂

Happy Birthday, Alyssa!

First day of spring here in Ohio, and it’s supposed to snow. Ah, Ohio… Oh well, enough change in my life right now as it is. But warmer would be better. 😉

Found a couple library jobs to apply for this week, thanks to the advice from several friends. I know temp and part time is the way to get your foot in the door, but it just is not financially feasible for me right now. So, I aim big.

A good weekend ahead for me. The Detroit ship is throwing their inaugural house party on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, I get to go visit my best friend Erika. Very excited to see her, and her family. It has been too long. And she might even make me eat more healthy things. 😉

Had a nice Sunday visiting my brother, sister in law and the kids. Played several card games and read some Ninjago to the belated birthday boy. We even took a walk to see a backhoe and rode bikes and played on the swings. A very nice day out, though still a little chilly for me.

Found a couple more copywriting jobs and a web job to apply to this week as well. Inventory this weekend at the store, so staying busy getting ready for that. Not going to make the fleet party this weekend, but two more the next two weeks will make up for that.

Spring soon, but still quite chilly this week. A bit of snow here and there as well, but nothing like the storm last week. Looking forward to warm.

I applied to two jobs this week. One doing data entry at a place that helps people and one as a proofreader for Mongoose Publishing. The latter of which seems more likely to work out, as they already emailed me back with details and I’ve expressed my continued interest. So, that will be cool.

Back on the yoga, tai chi, and meditation train, as well as working harder to eat better. Yes, I still have more Girlscout cookies to go, but I’ll be better about rationing the rest. Gotta have some incentives.

Spring is definitely here. 80 degree weather this week. And tornadoes. Mustn’t forget the tornadoes and hail on Sunday. But the birds are happy and the grass is green. I have even opened the blinds and turned on the AC.

Hurray! 150 Posts!
