We were supposed to have our store holiday meeting on Sunday evening, but when the tornado sirens went off at 730, I began to wonder. At 8, I got a call from the store saying not to come in. And it looks like they may not have time to reschedule, which is disappointing for all the work they put into getting ready. Ah well, the holidays come whether we’re ready or not. All the new kids seem to be getting the hang of things, so that’s good.

Had our local party in the run of November parties this past weekend as well. It was good fun – 125 people in one house. Good thing we opened up the garage and put in a ramp. New friends and old, it was a very good weekend. I’m pet sitting the next two weekends, as fleet travels to Connecticut and Indy.

Two more big assignments to go in my Foundations class. One due on Sunday – to write about the Bexley Public Library that I visited yesterday. It’s a nice place, much bigger than it looks from outside. If I’d remembered to bring a bill with me, I could have even gotten a card, instead of wandering around with a notepad pretending I was being studious or something.  Then the big research project on internet security issues in libraries, due the end of the first week of December. Almost done. Actually bought the APA book today, because we have to do APA formatting, not just citations on both of these assignments.

Alright, enough rambling, time for dinner and homework.

I applied to two jobs this week. One doing data entry at a place that helps people and one as a proofreader for Mongoose Publishing. The latter of which seems more likely to work out, as they already emailed me back with details and I’ve expressed my continued interest. So, that will be cool.

Back on the yoga, tai chi, and meditation train, as well as working harder to eat better. Yes, I still have more Girlscout cookies to go, but I’ll be better about rationing the rest. Gotta have some incentives.

Spring is definitely here. 80 degree weather this week. And tornadoes. Mustn’t forget the tornadoes and hail on Sunday. But the birds are happy and the grass is green. I have even opened the blinds and turned on the AC.

Hurray! 150 Posts!

Shots in the dark are still waiting to land. Insurance reconsidered the bill, so they really do owe us money, so that’ll help pay other bills. Another friend considering hiring me for web design. And the gift of a blender from someone who found she did not need to keep hers. A decent week, all in all.

I’ve felt rather fidgety all week. The weather won’t make up its mind if it is spring or not yet. Yesterday, most of all. It went from 70 degrees and sunny, to windy and overcast with tornado watches, to pouring down rain, to hailing, back to 70 degrees and sunny and then down to freezing and snow. I feel like that, too. I’m on the verge of new beginnings, but I keep going backwards or round in circles, not quite ready to take that last, fully committed step into Spring. I still have the lethargy of winter hibernation tugging at me, whispering sweet dreams in my ears, if only I’d lay back down.

So much to do, so little time. I have to wake up now and get moving. Set deadlines, meet goals, create the life I want to live. All that stuff I keep talking about. Time to Do.

I spent this past weekend, Thursday through Monday, downtown at MarCon – Multiple Alternative Realities Convention. I had a great time hanging out with friends and seeing folks from out of town. Tom Smith’s concert was fun as always. He promised that if he puts out a DVD, his ASL interpreter will most certainly be featured. She is amazing and hilarious. The Zombie Walk was huge this year, but a few bad eggs ruined it for future walks – defacing property with fake blood. The con did well this year – attendance was up and the biggest problem of the weekend was caused by non-con people. It looks like the con will be moving weekends after next year, we will have to see how that rolls out. I ate a lot of dead cow this weekend, hamburgers and even a wonderful flat iron teriyaki steak, as well as other unhealthy odds and ends. I did have some really good grilled asparagus with that steak, too, and bits of salad with my sandwiches. It wasn’t a completely unhealthy weekend, just mostly.

Back on the wagon again and still doing quite well. I’m a little stiff today, but nothing serious. Had more grilled asparagus last night, too. Yum! Cart full of veggies bought today. 🙂 Picnics the next couple Sundays. Summer is arriving with a roar – tornado warning yesterday. A beautiful storm. Rich has surgery on Tuesday and then recovery, we still don’t know how long that’s going to take but they tell us it will be faster than the last time.

All is well, life is good. 🙂
