Started officially at my new branch this week. Learning the ropes of the new space and processes. Very different from larger previous branch and the much larger Main. It’s all good, though, working together to get everything done, and everyone taken care of. I like it.

Newsies was Great! The play took a different angle on a couple of the main characters, but I think it worked really well. The changes to the songs were disconcerting, but not bad. The songwriter said, in an article I Googled after watching, that he was glad to have a chance to go back and really polish them up.

Doc’s not thrilled with me still being on prednisone, so I’m onto my next step of cutting back. She’s also looking for someone for me to see about my jaw, but of course it’s been behaving these last couple days. Wants me to add Fish Oil into my supplements, too.

This week in Audio books has been short stories: Side Jobs by Jim Butcher, Call of Cthulhu and Dunwich Horror by Lovecraft. I also started into Triplanetary by E.E. Smith today, and a couple more Dresden shorts.

This week, I’m spending at the Main Library for CSS training. It has been a fairly quiet, and educational week. I’m enjoying having stairs to run up and down at work again. I really need to get more exercise. Looking forward to getting back to MLK next week, as well. This next step feels like a very good one on my path.

At Sprawl, we’re getting closer go having me cataloging in the actual library building, as well as getting a more solid plan for the public access catalog. I’m now over 1,000 books cataloged in the current collection, too.

This weekend includes a night with friends, going to see Newsies, and some puppy time.

As for audiobooks, this week I finished Redwall and Cold Days, and listened to Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly and Skin Game.

Late post this week because I’ve been busy and running around a lot to keep up with everything. Today my class finished training, ending with an hour of phone calls to test out what we learned and see if there was anything we missed, so we could ask before spending an entire shift on the phones. I took five calls in this time, and they all went pretty smoothly (the latter four more than the first, because I was nervously stumbling). I only had to clarify a couple things with our trainer, and everyone was happy at the end of the calls… Well, maybe not the claims rep who called to ask me a question that only her department can answer, but hopefully she found someone higher up her food-chain to ask. Sorry, we don’t handle those, Ma’am.

Did get back to Sprawl this week, too. Mowgli is busy getting the building next door renovated, and I dug back into the books. I’ve cataloged 767 books so far, and evaluated and bagged another two and a half tubs worth that are too old to have ISBNs. Looking forward to having a bit more time over there once my regular shift gets going.

Finished Stranger in a Strange Land, as well as The Man Who Sold the Moon, and have started into Methuselah’s Childern. Fare well, Mike and Mr. Harriman and well met, Lazurus Long.

Happy Easter to all my friends and family! 🙂

This is a good DVD month – Big Hero 6, Hunger Games: Mocking Jay part 1, Sound of Music re-release, Annie, The Hobbit – Battle of the Five Armies, Into the Woods, Unbroken. All the things.

Management changes again (tired of hearing that? Me too!). Once again we are being promised mentors and Proper Training. Two months left in the fiscal year. Weee!

School is going right along. One more MySQL/PHP project to go. I think I understand it well enough now to get my own project moving along in May. Since I don’t have a May Term class this time.

Cleveland ConCoction next weekend. Didn’t make it last year. Looking forward to a great time with friends. Then I’m done with cons until May. 🙂
