Heading to a convention soon. Looking forward to a weekend of relaxing with friends. May do some writing, I have a story that is poking my brain a bit today. Otherwise, planning to hang out, maybe play some games.

Had my final usability test this week, and it was a really good one. Excited to move forward with gathering all the data together and making a plan with the team. We have Spring Break coming up in a couple weeks, but it doesn’t change my calendar.

Still working my way through Girl of Paper and Fire in audiobooks. I’ve read a bunch of Ms. Marvel comics in preparation for the movie, as well as Umbrella Academy in prep for the Netflix show. This week’s art lesson was the full body, but I won’t be showing that here, it was challenging.

We’re having another day off thanks to Ohio weather. This time I noticed Before getting out of bed. So, slept in and have spent my morning practicing drawing. Getting better bit by bit, thanks to Babs Tarr:

First and Fifth lessons.

At work, I only have one more Card Sort until I am done with my Usability tests. Then analysis and changes to propose and make. We’re also going to be trying out new website software (an upgrade, so not Completely new), which will be great for this.

At home, still working on weight loss, and I’m nearing 20lbs off since I started. It is Con season, so I had some puppy sitting last weekend, and I have a con in early March, that I’m excited for.

In reading, I finished listening to Children of Blood and Bone. Now, I am on Girl of Paper and Fire, by Natasha Ngan. In CR world, I am up to Episode 105 of 115, so nearly done with campaign one of Critical Role. Excited and terrified, but the January throw back episode is coming out this weekend, so that will help. And I might be joining a monster of the month D&D game, too, with brand new kid players.

We had a great weekend at a cabin in the Hocking Hills. Playing board games and D&D. Last weekend I went to the RenFaire again, and watched three jousts, three mud shows, a couple pirate shows and bits and pieces of other shows.

At work I’ve gotten my survey results and made lots of pretty pie charts. Now, I’m working on getting the Usability Study organized and running.

In the audio world, I’ve caught up on Season two of Critical Role and I’ve started Season one. It was really fun to watch their live show at NY ComicCon and I’ve been watching a lot of random related videos on Geek and Sundry, as well. Since the last post, I’ve finished Dread Nation and also listened to Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. On the writing side, I’ve pickup up an old gifted journal to get my creative brain rolling again.

My brother’s wedding was really very nice and included quite a bit about not just bride and groom, but the families becoming one. They had some very nice music and the kids all looked adorable. A very large number of his parishioners came out to support them, as well. More than they ever planned on. Very nice, indeed. And was great to see my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousin. 🙂

Cedar Point was a great day as well. Tried out the Valraven and the Rougarou, both were were fun, but the former very short. Did not make it on Steel Vengeance as the line was very long, and we were making a short day of it. Also rode Millennium Force and the Maverick. The new harness on the Mav is very nicely padded. Did the Gemini, the SkyHawk, the Power Tower (down), and the super high swings and Cedar Downs. Oh, and in the middle of all that, we did take a ride on Snake River Falls, which they have deepened the water since I last rode it. Tiffy took a picture after and captioned it “You won’t get that wet, she said” in which I look like drowned rat. 😉 But hey, we got to watch a nice lady make a glass turtle after, while we tried to dry off in the heat of her forge.

At work, I finished scanning and uploading all the items for our mini archives. I am still waiting on word back from a few places about space for a bigger archive. It’s about to be finals time, and then semester break and when we get back in September, I’ll be officially starting the Use and Usability study.

In reading, I finished Skin Game and Side Jobs, and am still working on Penric’s Demon.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, as well, my friends. 🙂

July is a busy month for my family. Last Sunday was Dad’s Birthday. Mine is coming soon. (And a wedding after that.) This weekend was a mini Denison Reunion. And yesterday I went to my fleet chapter’s annual meeting. Busy busy busy. Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with this.

Work is awesome. I will be launching my usability study soon. Today, I started scans for a small archival test collection. Also today, I will be teaching my first batch of Freshmen about the library and how to verify a website.

Pictures from Denison visit:

Bookwise, I am up to Cold Days by Butcher. And listened to Ready Player One. I’ve picked up a few random things for later in the year from Publishers Weekly and Booklist, so expect less Dresden in the coming months. 😉
