Hope everyone had a good day, whether celebrating, or not. At the very least, I hope everyone had a Safe day. The sudden blizzard was pretty terrible for people driving. It also made work pretty quiet.

Belated Happy Birthday to Uncle John, his birthday was nearly a week ago, as I’m very late in posting this week.

School is good. This was the second week of a session, so everything was already posted. The new workshop went really well for the first week. Looks like it’s going be fun. Next class starts Monday, too. Busy, busy, busy.

Had a great time going out to the movies with friends last night.

Slow day at work, but made up for it with TGIFriday’s and A Good Day to Die Hard afterwards. Food was tasty, of course. But, not gonna lie, I expected more from Die Hard. It was too straight forward, and a bit too much family reunion/heartfelt father-son moments. But there were guns, and car chases and explosions, so not all bad.

Two more people ditching the store. One manager moving to another store, and one long-time bookseller heading into a new career. Hope the moves are good for them. Wonder what kind of person we’ll get to replace the manager. I’m still looking. More library applications this week. Might have a contact for McGraw-Hill soon.

Trying to add some tumeric to my diet for anti-inflammatory properties. Worked in the tomato soup, but it didn’t actually dissolve in the tea… that was weird.

Two Valentine’s parties this weekend. Should be much fun with friends. Might even get some sleep in there somewhere, too.

Rich got the job offer today. So that’s cool. He starts soon, and then benefits start a couple weeks later. He’s back in QA, where he enjoys being. So that’ll be good for him, and us. 🙂

Had fun with friends this weekend, and managed to avoid con crud a second time. A quiet weekend this week, and then more celebrations with friends the week after for Valentine’s Day. Also, a new Die Hard movie, totally want to see that. 😉

Filed taxes this week. Happy refund as usual. Yay, numbers.

No new solid job leads yet. I need to learn more web programming. But then it also becomes a matter of proof that I have the skills. Yay, fun. Keep on swimming.

Party with friends and a new red dress. It was good to relax for a Saturday night. A nice birthday lunch for a friend on Sunday complete with Snickers Pie and singing. Rich and I had a late Valentine’s dinner at P.F. Changs and an even later movie to see Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows. Good movie. Long. I only missed one plot movement for sleeping. Monday out for dinner with chosen family again. Valentine’s Day itself, being Tuesday, I spent at work and killing zombies and slavers at gaming.

I am watching a show called Numb3rs and between that and Big Bang Theory, I really miss math, science and college. And feel a push to do something more with my life. One project is in motion. Now I just need to set regular deadlines to keep it going. Then get back to my webdesign studying, with more reasonable deadlines, so I don’t get overwhelmed.

Still waiting on the federal tax refund deposit. Then it’s time to get my passport, and get one step closer to seeing K again. 🙂

Had a good Sunday with my brother’s family, celebrating my nephew’s birthday with all the aunts, uncles and cousins. Excellent lunch – especially the fruit salsa. Cinnamon pita chips to dip in apples, strawberries and peaches mixed with marmalade. Delicious. The franks in bacon weren’t bad either.

This weekend will be a Valentine’s party with friends. All sorts of parties, actually, but I think I’m only going to one. Rich and I will celebrate together on Sunday, dinner and a movie, probably. Not really a big thing for me.

Next weekend, we’ll be celebrating a wedding. That will be excellent. They are creating a convention around their wedding.

This Monday was Valentine’s Day. A day with all sorts of strange history and traditions and lore. But, for me, it is a day to celebrate love, loved ones and family. This year, for me, it was a day of gratitude. I thanked my parents for their shining example of love and marriage. I thanked my husband for making my life so full and wonderful. And I thanked some good friends for all they have given and taught me. It was a day of laughter, love and affection. And I now also say thank you to everyone else in my life. I have amazing friends and family all around me, and I am forever grateful.

What else?

Nephew’s birthday party is this weekend, more time with the family, and his extended family. It will be a chaotic mixing of the cousins, full of cake, ice cream and wrapping paper. I am looking forward to it, my brother’s kids are adorable.

Submitted a couple stories on Monday, already got one rejection back. I go through cycles of ditching all my old stories and starting over now and then. I really like the two I’m currently promoting the most, but it might be time to file them away.

Picked back up with Elance again. Though I’m having trouble finding jobs to apply to this week. Anyone need an editor/Wordpress monkey? Resume available upon request. 😉 I really do like how Elance has things set up, but I need a few successful jobs and good feedback to get credibility.

I have to find someplace to do my taxes for me, way too many forms and too much confusion this year. I’ve never seen so many different 1099 forms. And I disagree with TurboTax. Thinking Liberty Tax or H&R Block. Any suggestions?

Okay, I think that’s about it for this week. Take care, kind readers. 🙂
