Sunny Rainy Days June 25, 2020

The weather still thinks it is Spring. Going from bright sun to heavy rains over and over in a single day, all week long. I don’t mind, sitting inside, but I feel bad for the folks outside. Though, for those not trying to work the ground, it might be nice relief from the heat.

I’m staying inside even more now, with numbers climbing again. Ohio’s deaths per day have dropped, but our cases are climbing, so deaths will follow in a couple weeks. Not as bad as some states, but it is going up.

Meanwhile, after some relative peace during protests last week, the police were at it again this weekend. Attacking protesters, targeting leaders, and even a disabled teenager. Ginther was on yesterday claiming reform, and a review council “by the end of the year.” Yes, some things take time, but certain things need to change right now.

Work is a bit slower in the summer, while we work on build up for the fall. Given everything, and our plethera of classes already online, we’re not expecting a drop in enrollment. Keeping with the same, all online except the hands-on required classes. Still working on a computer lab/library plan in the higher ranks.

I started using the Wii Mom gave me a few years back to do exercise with Wii Fit. So far so good. It’s fun, and you add new exercises slowly, and I get to play balance games to cool down. I also get to compete with Mom’s old scores. I’ve got a ways to go on some of the exercises. 😉

Also enjoying the CSA deliveries. My neighbor gets something like it, too, and gave me some of hers lady week. I share pictures with her of what I made with what she gave me, which she enjoys. Hope you do too.

Hi folks. Big announcement tomorrow, but the ducks must be in their row first.

A quiet week. We had a tea party at work on Monday. Our Teen Guru is moving up to a new position at another building. All the tasty treats and finger foods.

Speaking of tasty… I tried out a couple P.F. Changs’ meals in a frozen bag this week, and they were quite good. Not as good as in the restaurant, of course, because frozen, but good enough for my cooking. I had Chang’s Chicken and Mongolian Beef with sting beans (I also added snow peas, cuz mmm greens).

I hope everyone had a nice Palm Sunday, and will have a nice Holy Week. I streamed the service from my favorite local church. And got a Good Friday service… they’re doing a series and for whatever reason, it timed out that way.

In audio books, I finished Black Prism, and listened to The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott. Now, I’m listening to American Gods, because the show was good. I also pre-ordered Brief Cases by Jim Butcher, which is coming out in June, and bought the audio for A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo by Jill Twiss. The latter is only a few minutes long, so I’ll be listening to it later today.

I’m getting more used to working two jobs again, but it’s still quite tiring, what with everything else still going full steam. But the files are now all in order, though 21 of the boxes don’t have homes yet. And that number is just Not going to work out well.  I have about one box of unfiled papers still needing put in the right folders. And then that project is done. They’ve asked me to stay four more weeks, with the suggestion that the library could use my help ( right now it’s a bunch of boxes of books and some empty fixtures). So we’ll see how that goes.

It’s October, the holiday season is upon us. I am once again pondering the effort and expense of a Halloween costume. I have hardly bothered since becoming an adult. (Yeah, laugh all you want 😉 ) Don’t know that it’s going to change this year either. The holiday displays are going up in the store and next month, holiday hours start piling up. I don’t know what this IS going to mean for my schedule, but it Could be good things. It will mean the insanity of another retail Christmas. The school doesn’t seem interested in hiring me permanently, so no escape valve, yet.

Health is doing alright. It’d be doing better if I was more conscious of taking care of myself. I’m trying to be, but everything is so busy. Got fresh fruits and veggies yesterday. Eating more salad as I rush between jobs. My jobs are very physical, but actual exercise would be good for me. Remembering to take the meds I asked for every day would probably be good for me, too. 😉 All in all, though, I’m doing well.

Just got my copy of The Legacy of Heroes this week. Is pretty. Our BSG-based game with it is going along well. We are actually able to kill some of the suits now. (Toaster being anachronistic in a fantasy world, but suits of armor seems a fitting alternative.) And we’ve gotten our call to the oracle, so that’s up soon. Somehow my monk is still alive. And soon, she might even be effective, thanks to our GM’s gift. Fun stuff.
