Weather continues to be crazy around the US. Making my days on the phone ever so much more exciting. But it makes the days go by, and only a few impatient folks each day.

Down to the last 8 boxes of my initial run through of Collection 1 at Sprawl. I’m nearing 1500 books cataloged so far. with probably another 500 evaluated, but sans ISBNs.

Still tossing out resumes whenever I can find postings that make sense for me. Two months til Main opens back up. Looking forward to seeing what all they’ve done. 🙂

Relaxing this weekend, so I’ll be rested for MarCon next weekend. Should be a fun time. I’ve got a full badge this year, so hoping to check out more than I have the last few years. Do have to nip out on Sunday to go to work, but I did find a volunteer for my Summer Games Sunday. 🙂

Finished The Cat Who Walks Through Walls, and now I’m onto To Sail Beyond the Sunset. Last book in the current Heinlein reading list. I haven’t fully decided where to go next, might see if I can catch up on Salvatore via audio, but I haven’t looked into it yet. I did download some Ray Bradbury and some Ted Talks via Audible’s Channel feature, so I’ve got some bits to fill in, and listen to at Sprawl.

First week of down time. Weather has figured out that it’s November – no snow down here yet, but chilly and cloudy. Wind is picking up like crazy today.

Apartment is cleaned, dishes and laundry done. I’m good at cleaning when I should be doing other things. 😉  But I’ve also found a few more really good opportunities to apply to. Things are looking very hopeful.

Spent Saturday at BAD OGRE gaming with the Denison Gaming Guild. Played 5th ed D&D, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and two games of Werewolf. It was a great time. Love my alma mater.

Went back yesterday, too. Visiting Fred and checked out the new Library Archives, which they’ve moved to the basement. It’s a really great space, natural light, better shelving in the back room. Really nice place.

80s over last weekend, and snow on Tuesday. What fun! We’re back into the 60s today, and beautiful weather. Ohio is definitely exciting… or something like that. 😉

Watched a couple new (to me) movies over the weekend. Watched The Philadelphia Story and Kinky Boots with friends, both very good and very entertaining. Then went to see Captain America Winter Soldier by myself. Also a very good movie. Though debate rages over whether I should watch SHIELD episodes.

Started my database driven website workshop this week. Learning new things about Access and SQL. All is good. 🙂 only just over two weeks left in the semester. Excited for the summer. They say the bill will be arriving next week. Once again, gratitude to my parents for their assistance in this new chapter in my life.

On the gaming front, I lost my character on Tuesday. Time to test out a new combination in the new system next week. And I’m considering returning to World of Warcraft – as a more social alternative to the hours I spend watching Netflix. We shall see.

Hope everyone is having a good week, and has a Happy Easter on Sunday!

Quite the week of weather, thanks Ohio. 😉

Had a busy weekend of a final and a midterm and editing a book, but it all went fairly well. Still waiting on grades, but I seemed to go well. The book is edging closer and closer to publication. We’re all very excited about it.

Been mostly lazing about this week. Hanging out with friends and the usual. Made fun new characters on Tuesday, can hardly wait to see how they go next week. Back to Undermountain with a new group.

This weekend is pubs and friends – a birthday party on Saturday, and some possible stitchery. Then on to starting the second half of my Organization class.

And a Happy Birthday to Mom on Wednesday. 🙂  (Edited)

Weather’s been crazy this past week. And not just day to day, but mile by mile around the city. Storming one place and a few miles down the road it’s nice and sunny. Makes driving ever so fun. And back to freezing cold, to boot.

Rich started his new job this week, and he loves it. So that’s great. Benefits should kick in next week. I’m still looking, and looking, and studying. Drupal this week. Fun stuff.

The parties this past weekend were all good fun. It was nice to hang out with friends and just relax. We also went to see The Hobbit. Which I enjoyed thoroughly, only falling asleep during the elven/wizard council, but waking up shortly thereafter, when there were storms and rocks and giants. Looking forward to the rest of the movies.

Weather is up and down and all over the place. Storms and hot or windy and cold, or sun and rain at the same time. It’s fun and mostly pleasant, so no complaints here.  Even the not so pleasant still tends to be pretty.

New financial year, means more hours at work. We’re reorganizing all the sections of the store to make them more shoppable and more shelvable. So, that’s loads of fun. At least we aren’t moving the sections again. Glowlights are shipping slowly, but surely. My store didn’t have a lot of reservations to go on.

Random pains the past week, but they’re never too terrible, nor too long lasting. New health food store up by work. Not sure putting it between Toys R Us and Costco is the best business plan, but ah well. Prices seem fairly decent and they carry my spelt, soba and powdered garlic. So, I’m happy. Though Ezekiel seems to have stopped shipping yeast-free bread to Columbus. Which is a bit sad.

Mother’s Day on Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day to Mom and Gale and my friends’ Moms and my friends who are Moms(that number keeps growing). Have a great weekend, you all deserve it. 🙂

Cooking and Fishing March 1, 2012

So, just for fun, I signed up for the Free Starter Edition of World of Warcraft about a week and a half ago. I was having a craving and figured I’d get bored long before I wanted to start paying for it. There’s a level cap and a gold cap and a professions cap, and you can’t trade, auction or mail anything. But they didn’t actually cap the non-profession skills. So, after getting to all the other caps, I’ve been running up my fishing and cooking skills, and getting achievements and pets. I have a bunny, a balloon, two parrots, three kittens, and a few owls. I caught Old Ironjaw in Ironforge and snuck into Orgrimmar to catch Old Crafty. I explored around Stranglethorn at lvl 20 so I could catch enough fish to cook to get to Master cooking. It’s been fun, I’ve got some more sneaking to do to max cooking out. Then maybe some exploring achievements to accomplish. First Aid isn’t going to get maxed because I can’t even begin to kill the higher mobs to get their cloth, but I might make it through silk, maybe. If I don’t get bored. I really want a ram, though. 😉

Further into The Omen Machine, and again, while I love Goodkind’s characters, and the plot isn’t a terrible one, the writing in this book leaves much to be desired. It’s disappointing.

One more medical bill down, two to go. Have to get the next one sorted on Monday when the billing lady gets back to the office. The big one seems to still be in limbo, no letter or call from the medical collections agency yet. They didn’t have the bill when I called. Got a random collection letter on a 9 year old Sprint bill out of the blue. That’s taken care of, just wow, took them long enough.

Weather is still really weird. Thunder and tornadoes and 70 degree weather in February. What will March bring?

Shots in the dark are still waiting to land. Insurance reconsidered the bill, so they really do owe us money, so that’ll help pay other bills. Another friend considering hiring me for web design. And the gift of a blender from someone who found she did not need to keep hers. A decent week, all in all.

I’ve felt rather fidgety all week. The weather won’t make up its mind if it is spring or not yet. Yesterday, most of all. It went from 70 degrees and sunny, to windy and overcast with tornado watches, to pouring down rain, to hailing, back to 70 degrees and sunny and then down to freezing and snow. I feel like that, too. I’m on the verge of new beginnings, but I keep going backwards or round in circles, not quite ready to take that last, fully committed step into Spring. I still have the lethargy of winter hibernation tugging at me, whispering sweet dreams in my ears, if only I’d lay back down.

So much to do, so little time. I have to wake up now and get moving. Set deadlines, meet goals, create the life I want to live. All that stuff I keep talking about. Time to Do.

Tossed out a flash fiction story to an anthology, got back an acceptance today. It’s been a very long time since I’ve gotten one of those. Not a big market or any pay, but it is a fun little vampire anthology, one story for each day of the year.

Still waiting to hear back on potential car trade-in arrangements. No word from the bank. Nissan offered a car that was more than we wanted. Still looking for something cheaper. Still listed on Craigslist, though I really don’t think that’s going to go anywhere at this point. We’ll figure it out though. Hopefully without too many more random letters from banks telling us they aren’t approving a loan we didn’t know we’d applied for.

Elbow hurts today, but shoulders and such are all feeling pretty good. Trying to get back to mostly raw again, but I like warm food and it’s heading into fall again. Eating as much salad as I can manage, though. And wheatgrass juice a few times a week. The change in weather has my head and lungs all confused this week, too.

Really looking forward to the next two weekends with friends. Life is good.
