Registered for summer classes, no may term this year, just two classes at once, June through beginning of August. Looking forward to my final two classes, but still a lot of work to do this semester, first. MySQL and PHP workshop going really well. Digital Curation is full of the reading. Information Storage and Retrieval continues to be interesting and fun with Excel.

Did not get the jobs I interviewed for, so time to get back to applications. More managerial changes at the store. I don’t know that it’s ever going to settle down. But on we go. I’ll have to start looking at fall internships soon, too.

In gaming, Tesla West is winding down, and we’re headed back to Faerun. I’m bringing back the Gnome Paladins – Roondar’s great-great nephew. Should be a blast. We’re play-testing 2nd Legacy.

Just finished my last assignment for my Management class. I will post a few more replies tomorrow to round out the week’s discussions, but the hard part is over. All readings, quizzes and assignments are done. Wohoo!!

Had a nice, quiet weekend with the animals this past week. And another nice, quiet weekend coming up. There will be a birthday dinner/boardgame to attend on Saturday. But other than that – Relaxing! Yay, June.

Just went over my tourist plans with K today. We are going to do all the things, and it will be glorious. πŸ™‚ So looking forward to visiting her, and meeting all her friends and some of her family.

In other news, The Narrative Gaming System books arrived last week, and all the domestic orders have been shipped out. Possibly he’s also managed the international ones by now, not sure. So, hurray on a project complete!

Spring!!! March 20, 2014

They say it’s spring today. They also say tomorrow is going to start with snow and end with 60 degree temps. Ah, Ohio. Welcome to spring, my friends, family, and readers.

I had a great weekend with friends both here and up north last weekend. There was much silliness and bacon. Opting out of going north again this weekend, but still plenty of fun to be hand here at home.

I also have a final project that I’m hoping to finish up tonight, and a midterm test to take on Saturday. And I have to finish editing the NGS book by end of day Sunday. But then it’s Spring Break! Weeee! No homework for a week! πŸ˜‰

In other news, I bought my plane tickets to England. They’re for June instead of August as I realized I have more of a break (three weeks instead of one) between classes earlier in the summer. I get to fly through DC and Brussels to get there, but I’m going straight from Columbus to Bristol (and back) without having to get a train to and from London. K’s already being to plan Things We Must Do. So looking forward to seeing her!!!

Yay, Laundry! February 20, 2014

So, biggest news of the week, after nearly two months, they finally reattached my dryer vent to the tube. I got to do laundry in my very own building this week, and more to do this weekend because I got sleepy and watched Tom Clancy movies instead of finishing.

The NGS Kickstarter is fully funded and well on its way to stretch goal #2, so that’s Awesome. Lots of fun little extras and posts and such going up each day. Check it out if you haven’t already.

My Organization of Information class looks like it is going to be full of useful information and practical skills, so I’m excited about that. My Access class has a fun project this week – using actual almanacs, dictionaries and encyclopedias to find random bits of information. I had forgotten how much crazy and random facts are in an almanac. I also remembered to apply for the bookseller scholarship in time this year. I remembered to look it up before work on Wednesday and it was due by Feb 28th, so I got it done immediately. Fingers crossed.

It was good to see Pete and the kids this weekend. Though I think they found me a bit boring this time, as I mostly sat and talked with their dad and snuggled the dog.

This coming weekend is not planned with any events. Just relaxing, finishing laundry and getting ahead on homework. πŸ™‚

So, the biggest news this week is the NGS (Narrative Game System) Kickstarter began Wednesday morning and we are already 2/3 the way to our goal.

In other news, Happy belated Birthday Uncle John! You are now on my calendar as well. πŸ™‚ Hope you had a great day Saturday. Heading to see my nephew this Sunday to wish him an in-person belated birthday.

In school news, I got a 95% on my first paper. Second paper is due Sunday. The class is going really well. I’m enjoying the discussions and most of the readings. My second class this semester starts Monday. And on the 24th, I get to register for summer session. Everything is going great. Except that a lot of the scholarships are minority only that I’m seeing lately, and the assistantships require me to take one more class a semester than I am planning to, in order to be eligible. :/ Β Still looking for things to apply for, though. Need to find that bookseller one again.

In reading, I’ve just got the epilogue left and I’m done with the Neverwinter Saga, so I can finally read The Companions, that I bought and had signed last fall. Then I’ve got some Goodkind to catch up on. And maybe Night Angel trilogy after that. Life is good.

Tomorrow is Chinese New Year, so have some tasty rice and colorful veggies to celebrate the Year of the Horse.

I am halfway through my first project of the semester. I have recorded my information seeking behavior for seven of the last ten days. This weekend I get to write a paper about it. Wee, fun. Then, I get to find two volunteers for my next project. Anyone in Columbus want to help out?

My other big project this week is editing the NGS Quickstart Guide and sample adventure for Venture Land Games. I spent Sunday afternoon helping with the upcoming Kickstarter video, so I’m excited to see how that turns out, too.

A quiet weekend ahead, other than work, and homework and editing work. Plenty of time to stay inside out of the rain. Ah Ohio, how you tease.
